  1. Plymouth is about 12 hours from everywhere and he had to sit through that game on Friday.
  2. Mark Pougatch has put the miles in this weekend. Manchester to Plymouth via London.
  3. Birmingham and Leyton Orient in very good form and it shows.
  4. Raucous celebrations in the away end there.
  5. From set pieces, most attackers stand ahead of defenders then move back as the kick is prepared. There is always a good chance of offside. The defence being that high suggests we are going for offside. The attackers didn't even attempt to go back, they just stood in the same position then carried on. At best, we'd have a player in line with the attacker but in all probability they are in front of the defence. Probably a VAR call with lines etc. If he can't see a blue shirt, sock across that line you would guess it is offside. Genuinely, if linesman cannot give that, we don't need them. Surely they are trained for the "easier" part of the job which is dealing with set piece decisions? But then you have this nonsense where if it occurs in three weeks time it is disallowed. That is just as big an issue. Either we are all in or not.
  6. And this is a huge problem. Sacking one man is one thing but half the job. To be honest, I don't think this is going to work so a parting of the ways is probably best but who is next? We are so far behind other clubs.
  7. Some of our football is quite neat. Can see he has suffered for not having Ndidi available. Needs to keep Okoli in now. I know the results are worse but I think we offer a bit more than under Cooper, albeit a very low bar. It won't be enough, though.
  8. Good to have him back.
  9. Yes. Either it is there for everyone or not at all. In any case, VAR for offsides were introduced to decipher attackers being ahead of defenders in open play, often at pace, with the linesman genuinely unable to make the call. This was at least a yard offside from a dead ball situation. It is terrible officiating.
  10. Started well enough but faded horribly.
  11. You can't blame the defending when they have caught 4 players offside.
  12. Yet if it had been in the next round VAR would have ruled it out. Ridiculous situation.
  13. Very poor game. Two poor teams settled by an offside goal. Season is just forgettable.
  14. Did he think VAR was available? That is staggering.
  15. Well offside
  16. Commentary is setting us up here.
  17. Who are both lacking match fitness.
  18. Big second half. We are rarely winning at half time as well as being the better of the two (admittedly poor) sides. Need to remain focused.
  19. I hinted at it earlier in this thread but Micky Adams is overrated by our fans. Did a good job in the promotion season albeit with a very good squad but the Premier League season was a shambles. 3 home wins is terrible. He then presided over an awful summer transfer recruitment, played hideous football and wasted a chance for promotion and the future.
  20. Harry Kane, it could have been you.
  21. Spurs aren't on their way to Wembley
  22. It was a great era. Two trophies and top half finishes is a success. But, taking into account the modern world, there is no doubt this place and Twitter would have melted down with some of the defeats and performances- the regular losses to Derby, a League Cup defeat at Grimsby, 3-0 FA Cup defeats to Palace and Coventry. I think we went four months with just one league win in 98/99. He got his big games (barring Tottenham) right and that ultimately is what matters but I would suggest Rodgers first two seasons were a success yet the defeats are as big a part of the conversation as the victories. You would have a thread on here calling for O'Neill to go, I'm sure of it. It isn't to do him or his achievements down, more to highlight how the world of supporting has changed.
  23. National League pushing for three promotion and relegation places from the Football League. About time this was brought in.
  24. Agreed. Not sure why it never really got the exposure it did given the line-up. I know there weren't many episodes but Fawlty Towers didn't suffer for that. A shame Kray only appeared in one series, far better than Boyle.
  25. Not crap but nowhere near as good as the survival run-in. The best and most consistent support in decades. Possibly the most thrilling run we have had.
