I said at the time he was a pointless signing and got slated for it because people said he "had Premier League experience". He's one of the worse players I've ever seen and I knew he would be. ffs.

Consider that Vardy's goals have largely been in the top flight too. An underrated striker, even now I think some people underrated how good he has been. He's never in the conversation about top PL strikers but in his previous 9 PL seasons he has scored 15+ goals in 6 of his seasons. I'm glad that he stayed loyal to us but, for me, he's in the bracket of player where he could have played for any big club and won much more. Like Shearer.

I like Szmodics but he's had two seasons in his whole career where he's scored 15+ goals in a season, and one of them was in League One. He potentially may have scored 15+ again for Blackburn this season, as I recall he started the season well, but he's 29 and Ipswich paid a stupid amount for him. To me he was too much of a gamble.

I've said it time and time again but all cup finals are like this. Players win cup finals. Through the years you can recall the winners - Cantona, Gerrard, Drogba all the way back to the videos of Villa and even Young against us - we are not the only club that win a Cup because of a player.

Yeah we were, I remember. Just looked and it was 5 without a win before that game. That season was awful. Defending champions too. Embarrassment. We even went 6 games without scoring a single goal... and people say it's bad now.

His hat trick at home was against Man City I think, Pep's first season. I'm sure he got 3 and King 1.

Relative to the rest of the Championship he had a pretty expensive bench but yeah I take your point about the money at Chelsea.

They are really run but I think it's harsh saying their managers are just "another cog". Don't forget they were nearly relegated from the Championship in 2015 and from the Premier League in 2019, granted they've probably only had one bad appointment under Bloom. It's about time they won a trophy though. They've not gone further than the FA Cup semi final or fourth round of the League Cup.

I don't know. People expected us to get battered by Spurs, Villa and Arsenal. Didn't really happen in any of those games. Granted each missed plenty of chances, and our goalkeeper was on his game, but Man Utd aren't great at taking chances anyway. They are among the lowest scorers in the league. I don't think we can go there and win but I think we can grind out a draw to take to penalties.

He massively improved Brighton defensively. I see him as a builder type manager and think that is what we need. I said similar in the summer. Wish he would have come here. However, if it's true he rejected us then fvck it don't keep banging on his door.
