They won't finish 9th. The teams below - West Ham, Newcastle, Brighton - are the most inconsistent teams. Brighton especially, win then lose, been on the end of some awful results. Another discussion but I'm not sure how De Zerbi is so highly rated.
I never feel like we're going to get back into a game at 2 down, mad to say that considering we're top. We scored Saturday, had another 5 min spell after, then it all completely died again.
“We won on big chances”? Wtf is this. We didn’t score our chances against Middlesbrough and Leeds, end of. Lost.
Earlier in the season teams weren’t taking their chances against us (if Coventry had Gyokeres still they’d have beaten us at home) but now they are. All a team needs is one goal against us and we don’t look like we are going to equalise. Created nothing today. Against Leeds, created a lot but couldn’t finish. No need for excuses, just not good enough.
There would be a large section of people who would back King Power even if they oversaw us relegated again and again.
Where are they gonna get their free beer once a season?
Makes you think.
If we weren’t to go up, from the position we were in, then his job should be on the line. Especially when you consider our budget, facilities and squad compared to the rest of the league.
My heart says we will go up still but after today’s defeat my head has swung me a bit. The Middlesbrough and Leeds defeats I could just about put up with but today we were awful and lost to a side in a relegation battle (granted their form has been good recently).
Previous eras didn’t spend as much money as now, which is why OP probably said Praet is among our worse transfers. We’ve had worse players in previous eras but they cost us minimal compared to, for example, the near £20m we paid for Praet.
