Finally found a national anthem worse than ours.

I mean, it's no different to our fanbase who live and die by King Power and the "dream". Of course they don't think Dyche will bring them "European Glory" look at some of the replies to that thread. It's all a joke anyway. A bit of panic after 7 games. Ange is correct saying that people don't like a challenge nowadays, it's all "he's lost a few so we need a new manager now".

We signed Pressman at the end of his career though. Prior to that he had been a successful top flight keeper. Really harsh to put him in our worse ever given he was signed by us when he was about 36. I know we still had Walker then so Pressman was only signed as cover but how anyone expects a 36 year old keeper to be decent at that level is beyond me. But back then we loved signing established players at the end of their careers (Curtis and Howey spring to mind). But yes he conceded a goal to Andy Lonergon, who I recall being a decent goalkeeper himself. Compare to someone like Ward who we had in his 20's/early 30's and still diabolic. I would say he is our worse goalkeeper I've seen.
-
Non comparison though. Of course we were happy, we were 4th having nearly been relegated the season before. Also, although we didn't keep a clean sheet, some performances were impressive including the win at Upton Park, which was rare, and on the back of West Ham winning away at Arsenal the week before. The opening day when we battered Sunderland too was excellent. This season our expectation should be to go up automatically. Sorry but with the squad and resources we have anything else is a failure. I've not seen enough yet to think we will achieve this, our performances seem to be in halves which is worrying.

Gerrard was really honest on Ferdinand's podcast recently and said about wanting a good team next time as he knows his weaknesses.

Yes, part of a board that has overseen two relegations in three years. Any normal failing business would had numerous changes years ago.

Ultimately she's been part of the board that have overseen two relegations in three years.

High Risk Army! It's more than two seasons ago. I think that was midweek but we only got around 2000.
-
Of course it is Lampard probably get it next month then. Ipswich beat Sheffield United 5-0 in September, I wonder if that's swung it.
-
Lampard probably won't be bothered but he deserved it. First time in football league history a team won 3-0, 4-0 and 5-0 consecutively which probably deserved it alone.

Exclusive Screening Of Abdul Fatawu Documentary At King Power Stadium
Fox92 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Nobody turn up. What a ridiculous concept. -
He was still bad then. A half decent goalkeeper would have saved the first goal in that hat trick anyway.
-
Good grief. A "special screening" about a player returning from injury.
-
I maybe wrong but I thought they'd want a service charge for both games so thought I'd wait and get both together.
-
One of my favourite aways. Shame about it being £32, mind.

England's Golden Generation were 'egotistical losers' - Gerrard
Fox92 replied to davieG's topic in General Football and Sport
We played really good opposition though. Brazil that included Ronaldo and Cafu, France that included Zidane and Henry, Portugal that included Figo and Rui Costa... I think our team was really good but so were oppositions. Which is the difference when comparing to Southgate's team and we were lucky to not play opposition as strong (and when we did, France or Croatia, we lost anyway). The "golden generation" team would have been more successful nowadays considering the opposition. -
Does anybody know if we have any more blocks if E1 sells out? I didn't think this would sell as well as it has been so been trying to hang on for Norwich, which I presumed would be announced this week, so I could get Hull and Norwich together but now looking at Hull it seems I may have to just buy them.

I've seen the interview with Ferdinand and he comes across as honest, whether it be talking about Liverpool or England. -
Does it really matter.

I don't rate Manning either. Failed to get MK Dons up, walked out of Oxford, led Bristol City to the play offs but got embarrassed and then walked out. I think you're right that Martin would be linked with Norwich given his playing days.
-
He also gives it away a lot playing those passes. He makes mistakes all the time yet has one game where he scores and people want to forget. He was muscled off the ball for Wrexham's equaliser only last week. He hasn't been solid defensively at all. His strength (the ability to pass a ball) does not outweigh his lack of pace or lack of strength.
-
This is what annoys me now when people defend managers with "he hasn't got his players", a decent manager should be able to utilise the players he has and change his style to fit them in.
-
The positive for you is that the league is only 7 games in so it's all recoverable under a new manager. The issue would be sticking with him for too long and leaving it too late like we did.
-
Best thing he ever did was appoint Nigel Pearson. Mandaric went through so many managers, poor ones too, but got it right with Pearson and thankfully Pearson's ideas and what he implemented allowed this club to become what it was. We stormed League One thankfully otherwise we could have been stuck there for years like a Leeds or Sunderland. That appointment is when the club started moving forwards. Everything now has been ruined, mind.

No different to Sunderland last season who lost 5 consecutive games before winning the play offs. Who cares when how they finish a season if they end up promoted anyway. Southampton won the play off semi final leg 3-1 on aggregate and then beat Leeds, who many people thought would win the league, in the final. They finished 10 points behind us, title winners, which was more closer than last season where the 4th placed team, Sunderland, finished 24 points behind the title winners Leeds. He was then sacked 16 games into last season and both new Southampton managers couldn't do anything either. In fact I think Southampton won a massive 2 points after sacking Martin. I don't like him but he got 87 points in the Championship with Southampton, in fact lost the exact same amount of games as us (11).
