Yes. He does not improve just sitting on the bench. You point to his previous appearance being a "disaster" yet Vestergaard cost us against Wrexham, Faes cost us against WBA... We reject bids for him, from Premier League clubs, yet don't play him. It's a joke.

I think "should have" is the key here, yes we should have beat Coventry but poor finishing is another issue for us which will hinder our season (and lack of creativity). I still think we have one of the best squads in the league and we should be in a better position than we are. Although I will also argue that we have been lucky in games, for example Wrexham should have scored more than 1 too. It's not always a case of we should have and they shouldn't. All round not good enough.

Why do we need to be so quick to release the name, nationality, ethnicity? People have potentially died so it should be left there until it all comes out when details emerge. People are ready to point the finger or want justification to point the finger.

Most of our players are internationals and have played top division football for x number of years. That's without costs. A better manager would be getting more of out them and not persisting with players that are not good enough and do not perform. That's on top of the actual football being too slow and predictable. We create fvck all yet I would say a lot of teams would love to have the options of Fatawu/Monga/Mavididi. Winks and Ricardo are among the best, if not the best, players in the league as well.

So what do Middlesbrough fans expect, Stoke, Bristol City? All above us with squads not as good as ours. This whole "doesn't matter who the manager is" is a poor excuse. Our aim should be promotion. Aside from the other two relegated teams, I bet you cannot give me another team with a better squad than us. The key difference is the manager and we're currently below managers getting the best out of their squads. Whether that changes over the course of the season then time will only tell.

Abdul is our only player that has any threat but he does the same thing every game, cuts inside and crosses or shoots. 1 shot in 10 will go in and look great, the others are completely wide. Don't forget he only scored 6 goals under Maresca and 3 of them came in one game. Mavididi didn't have a great second half of the season under Maresca as I recall but he carries no threat at all now. Everything is just slow. How many times do I have to watch Vestergaard standing with the ball or someone picking up the ball in an attacking area but still pass backwards. Everything is so predictable. I was sceptical when we appointed Cifuentes, at the end of the day he had QPR in mid table where they were expected to finish anyway. I am still yet to be convinced, it's been a poor and that includes being knocked out of the League Cup against a League One team don't forget.

Loser mentality. We have one of the better squads in the division and people who claim we don't cannot name a better squad (maybe Ipswich actually) but we should be aiming for top 2, never mind top 6, and anything other than promotion is failure. We are run by clowns but at the minute this squad is better than average. We should be demanding more from these players and this manager because, so far, this season has not been good enough.

It's a bit of both but the manager does not escape criticism. His subs fvcked us up yesterday and let Wrexham back into the game. A better manager would be a getting a better tune out of some of these players.

Our squad is still better than a lot in the league. Winks and Ricardo are probably the best players in the league. We are better than average but have an average manager. A good core of this squad won the league under a better manager.
