The first five minutes summed up this squad when they were unable to focus on the immediate tasks of stopping the opposition and removing the ball from danger. They're most comfortable in their tippy tappy bubble when the opposition aren't pressing. They lack both togetherness and, again, focus when going forward.
Extracting the rotten teeth that are Winks and Faes showed that the rest of the team can be more creative and play collectively, although our superiority in the second half was undoubtedly magnified by Sheffield sitting back and not needing to attack us. That and the woeful Bamford who even Vesty outpaced.
We still lost 3-2 due to a stinking performance. The 2 goals will give righteousness to the happy clappers, but they shouldn't hide the reality that this squad is lacking in so many areas.
