Maybe Cooper was the interim while the points deduction problem was dealt with. But he hasn't come close to meeting expectations, even for a stop gap. His tactics have basically been to try to avoid conceding and hope for a moment of individual brilliance, but it hasn't worked and he took that to new depths against Chelsea, with seemingly no intention to attack them at all. Ayew's and Mavidid's late
appearances seemed to spark some attacking play despite, rather than because of, Cooper's tactics.
It has been a shambles under Cooper. I'm delighted he is gone.
