But what were the terms on the monies we were due to receive on the four players mentioned? What if the cash they were to give us was split over a 7 year period, and quite frankly due to our relegation, no shit we have a cash flow problem. You’re only looking at half the equation. Losing 6% to have the money now, versus using an overdraft facility, is the smarter option. However, the smarter solution would be to have an income that matches our expenses that reduces the reliance on these types of loans.

In a vaccuum I would not be overly concerned by this. I think the ‘borrowing against future transfer fee’ loans were totally overblown and not a dumb idea. in our current state though it’s just another sign that shows our income is just completely underdone vs what it needs to be. Wage bills need to come down quickly, which hopefully they will after the next load of contracts expire. Would prefer if everyone also looked at the income side of things, rather than just expenses. Football is an expense and typically you have to spend to be competitive. We’ve got a lot of wasted cash being spent, but it could be balanced if the club were performing better commercially.

You’re right, individual sponsorships are not going to be as lucrative. This is fundamentally my issue with the club, they didn’t capitalise when times were good, because they do not do a good enough job of selling Leicester the brand. As the most basic example, the club shop is as we are all aware, a total joke. I had my first born last year, was going to buy him a shirt, I was unable to access the club shop website for 4.5 months. My ask back isnt to just bring in one lucrative sponsor, they have to start fighting for corporate and fan pounds harder than ever, they can’t just meet their KPIs because we’re 5th in the PL. if the sponsorship dollars are not as lucrative they have to actually start working!

Any cash coming in is vital for us to stop loaning money from Macquarie Bank, which I’m not against for speeding up cash due from transfers, I’m only against using future money which isn’t guaranteed and hedging our future on cash flow loans. Everyone wants us to live within our means. Why is there pushback against growing our means off the pitch, something we’ve completely and utterly failed at previously.

You overlook the most important point, WHY does no one want to sponsor? Have we made it unaffordable? Or have we got the ability to show brands can get value out of it because we were just using KP for so long? Commercialisation is king in PSR world.

You’re right, and if this was reversed and Cov had dodgy deals, I’d be all over it. The truth is though, Leicester are totally incompetent at commercialising their assets. We have BC.Game paying a fee to be our club sponsor. That is driven by the market. If the club had half a brain, they would add King Power as additional sponsor to the books, at 75% of that predetermined market rate. Can’t get in trouble for it, it’s less than market rate. Why hasn’t Seagrave got a title sponsor? Why couldn’t it be the Bia Saigon Centre for the year? Why aren’t they trying to maximise the existing sponsor relationships to prove their value? Or are we content on relying on the list of Thai companies that are supporting because they’re doing us a favour. Note: commercialisation of assets for advertising purposes & managing sponsorships with sporting teams is my job.

Come on mate awful is a bit of an over exaggeration. His & Nelson’s biggest weakness is aerial duels. A back three with the giant Harry would help massively. Souttar and Nelson can pass, Okoli can use his physicality and speed. Think this formation is best to get rid of some of our biggest weaknesses in the squad and maximise the chances we could create. Need an Albrighton-esque winger rather than Mavididi to balance out Fatawu and Monga. Someone with killer vision and an ability to fashion a chance quickly, rather than the need to run through 3 players.
