  1. We're very fortunate for next year in that the in laws are paying everything for Disney except our flights as it's their dream to treat the grandkids, Mexico is the same as we're just staying with family, and San Sebastian i've used a load of hotel credit built up with expedia. That, and being an avid collector of air miles over the years means we'll probably only end up spending about £4000-5000. comprising mainly flight taxes and then spend whilst away. Without that, you're right, it'd be nuts, probably £15000 at least.
  2. Yes we considered February half term 2026 because of this, but in the end, on the balance of probability, chose October as we'll be there at the very end of the month where the risk, whilst still present, should be less than earlier in the month. Really useful advice on the evening hours, thank you.
  3. I'd considered Vueling to Bilbao, and even Ryanair to Biarritz, but filtering out return flights departing at silly o clock meant San Sebastian direct only ended up being £80 or so more expensive, included a baggage allowance, and LCY is a far more convenient airport for me than Gatwick or Stansted which the Vueling/Ryanair options would be. That, and having a preference to base in San Sebastian swayed the decision in the end.
  4. Have now got 2025 mostly sorted. Mexico (family) in April, San Sebastian/Basque country with the wife in June for 4 nights, then Disneyland Florida with kids in October. Always wanted to go to the Basque country so i'm particularly looking forward to that one. Originally planned on using Bilbao as a base, but some reasonably priced flights popped up direct to San Sebastian so heading there instead. Obviously Google has loads of suggestions, but any recommendations for food (from Pintxos to Michelin) and day trips welcomed if anyone has been. Same for Disney/Florida, if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations, they'd be gratefully received, particularly things kids enjoyed the most, and also any place within 2/3 hours of Orlando/Miami for a few days relaxing on the beach after the mania of Disney.
  5. 1) Technique (Ball control, dribbling, turning, balance) - Mahrez 2) Mindset ( Passion, motivation, leadership quality) - Walsh 3) Intelligence (tactical awareness, vision, risk assessment) - Cambiasso 4) Physicality (body type, strength, speed, athleticism) - Heskey 5) Team player (Loyalty, personality, popularity) - Vardy
  6. They haven't turned up though. They've been really really average.
  7. Moyes would keep us up and is the type of realistic appointment the club needs now. Not the time for progressive managers or to take a risk. Solidify the defence and genuine danger on the counter, it's the route to survival and what Moyes would produce.
  8. Man Utd have been garbage and are 2-0 up without breaking sweat. Shows how much of a shambles our defensive organisation is.
  9. He did well there. He needs teammates helping him out. Every time he gets it he has no options and has to use some fancy footwork just to work himself out of the cul de sac.
  10. Narrowing down by albums which i love, are a bit more "avant-garde" but are also generally accepted critically as modern classics, i'd go with. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
  11. Latest Ann Selzer poll has Harris up by 3 in Iowa. Don't think anyone saw that coming.
  12. Amazing how people see games so differently. I had him down as one of our best performers, low bar admittedly. Hutchinson got no change out of him all day. Distribution needs tidying up but defensively I'm more comfortable with him than JJ currently.
  13. I've never celebrated a 95th minute equaliser less. Thank you to Kalvin Phillips.
  14. Surprised VK getting a roasting here. He has been a bit lax in possession on occasion but defensively he has kept Hutchinson at bay. Last 25 minutes of that was another disaster. Complete lack of composure and confidence to just put a foot on the ball, but then if you are hoofing it, at least try and challenge for 1st and 2nd balls. This actually might be a game for Ayew, and neither winger could have any complaint about being replaced.
  15. Mavididi been so weak all half.
  16. The previous announcers voice always used to break whilst announcing the line up in the last couple of years, would throw him right off his stride when trying to add the oomph to calling out the 11. He often went pre-pubescent boy when pronouncing "Albrighton" and he would then immediately go down 2 octaves to Barry White level when announcing the rest of the side. Completely inane, but stuck with me.
  17. I agree. I was really surprised the commentators on TNT were pushing Beterbiev for the whole fight for essentially pressuring and punching glove and arm.. Bivol did the vast majority of the clean work and whilst Beterbiev was pouring it on in the last 3, I thought Bivol was a few clear by then.
  18. If you're referring to what I think you are, Faes was screaming at Mavididi for not sprinting to give Hermansen an option to start a counter.
  19. Feel a bit sorry for Ayew. He'll probably end up being synonymous with this Cooper era as a bit of a joke figure, not due to poor individual performances per se, just the fact he is the player embodiment of Coopers safety first attitude. He's a useful player in the right circumstances, just those circumstances aren't starting every game.
  20. We were dire for the vast majority. Coming back to 2-2 with 2 low xG efforts and holding on until stoppage time shouldn't mask that. We've conceded 4, and Hermansen has still made more saves than any other Goalkeeper in a premier league game for 7 years. What you're looking for a green shoots that suggest we can pick the points up against the poorer sides in the league, I just don't see them.
  21. Worst case scenario given how the game went as it'll buy Cooper time. We were dismal for the vast majority of that. Hermansen has had a worldie, we've scored 2 low xG goals from our only 2 efforts in the game and Coopers strange in game management laid bare again. The only positive is that we don't look like we'll roll over, but that is the same of the vast majority of poor sides fighting to stay up.
  22. What is this ref doing
  23. Most teams will lose comfortably at Arsenal, but at the very least the performances need to give something, somewhere to cling onto. There is absolutely nothing as a team, in the coaching, or the individuals that gives you the impression that things can get better under this manager.
  24. Any danger of someone putting a foot in?
  25. Not good enough from Vardy
