Of course, both LCFC and the Premier League are culpable. We're culpable for breaching PSR. The Premier League are culpable for not having watertight rules that have allowed us to avoid a punishment. Obviously it would have been totally negligent from the club had we not exploited the fact that loophole existed for us to escape punishment.

Basically reminds me of Faes but with far more pace and presence. Not sure it comes across that way on TV but he is an absolute unit. How good he becomes will be entirely dependent on his brain and if the aberrations can be coached out of him with time and maturity. Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised with him given the previous write ups. He was more comfortable on the ball than had been suggested.

Leicester v Villa Match Thread 31/8/2024
martyn replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
Was interested to see the reaction from those watching on a stream. At the game, it's patently obvious we need a more advanced midfielder on who can receive the ball and get Villas midfield worried about threats behind it. We've looked industrious and the players are up for it, but we didn't get into Villas box until the 40th minute. We just won't create any volume of chances with this line up against any opposition, not just European level sides. Players like Skipp and Ayew have played well individually, but all the work is done in areas that don't hurt the opposition. We need El Khannouss to be a star from minute one.- 947 replies

As long as it is enforced consistently, refs being brave enough to clamp down on time wasting / game delaying antics is fine with me.

Leicester vs Aston Villa - Pre-match Thread (August 31st)

Pragmatic is a kind way of describing that lineup. -
Broja is still dining out from a decent half season at Southampton a few years ago. Who knows if he's any good, but his stock is definitely down.

This is as good as a Championship loan move tbh. Some good players have come out of the non old firm clubs over the last few years.

I thought he was partially culpable for the second goal. As soon as JJ started committing to the winger, Vestergaard absolutely had to start moving over on the cover. Faes had the other forward covered. At worst he would have been in position to foul Iwobi and take a yellow.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official

What is he as a player? Doesn't particularly look like a grafter on the evidence of the first 2 games, which is the minimum we were expecting. It's not as if Mavididi shirked his defensive responsibilities last season either. Have to hope he isn't too comfortable with a 3 year deal and is motivated to show what he can actually bring as a player. He has been a total non entity in the first 2 games. -
I'm blaming Vestergaard for that. As soon as the ball got played out wide he should have been shifting over on the cover immediately
-
Ayew getting straight to the top of that covered most fouled list already

Reid again. That was a clever pass by Winks and he's just on his heels.
-
Faes reminding us that he is Faes

Ndidi been sensational last 90 seconds of the half

There's no way Leno was getting to that.

Ndidi having a stinking first 10

Almunia to Chris Wood 13/14 season.

We all know how good Ricardo is, and he is probably still one of, if not the best pure footballer in the squad, but his role would change completely in this Cooper side compared to Enzo, where his inverted role and our dominance in possession didn't tax his body so much. Who knows whether he still has that explosiveness in attack and recovery pace in defence that we'll be more reliant upon this season.

Villa looking to farm out Iling Jr on loan. Might be worth looking at.
-
He's just come off a full season playing for a champions league side in a top league and people talk about him like he's a pub player. First half he was off it, but so was everyone except Buonanotte. Was excellent along with JJ second half.
-
TBF the Winks in their side is Lavia and he has looked very good. Caicedo and Fernandez are the non factors.
-
Not sure if it's the fact he's wearing 26, but Savinho moves a lot like Mahrez on the ball, very silky.
