The Wrexham manager Parkinson has quickly realised Podcast Coady is a liability on the pitch but he has cleverly utilised the ex England defender’s verbal diarrhoea combined with snake levels shithousery to enable Wrexham to win yesterday’s game 1-1. Whilst this goes on in all teams. Only Coady would want to be praised publicly for his grass work.

Winks was better than. A 6/10. MOTM for me -
Watching Matty James school £25m Ollie Skipp on how a midfielder should impact a game was a sobering sight for all City fans. An on the pitch sign of where we were and where we now are. If only we had players now with the mentality of the two legends in that photo.

This was probably the worst result of the last 4 draws considering the opponents/the fact we were at home AND Bouba wasn’t involved! JJ is definitely the better option which is what I guess you mean but last night by not playing, it was abundantly clear that from now on Soumare should always be selected ahead of Skipp irrespective of where that is in the pecking order!
-
Potential banana skin. They’ve got a dangerous striker in Vipotznik and the ex LCFC boys Sheehan and Stearman have got them playing good football. For us hopefully Rambo will be back and Skipp is out of the squad. Nelson and Aluko at least in the squad. Not sure what we do about our strikers tho. Give Carrenza a barely deserved 90 minute go??
-
Don’t see this strong pressing/running Skipp tbh. I just see someone off the pace and unfortunately way out of his depth.
-
Ok yeh play Aluko then. I’ve only seen him on the right or central but tbf I’m only really commenting on this preseason and season. He certainly can’t be anymore limited than Thomas or VK.
-
I’m in no way a Marti out man but I can’t get my head round the decision making process that brought Skipp into the game. Skipp is not fast, he’s not a great tackler, hes not physical, he doesn’t give the impression of having any great energy - he’s not particularly fast to press, he’s not a great passer, he’s no goal threat. He weakens the team when he comes on because he’s never anywhere near as good as the player he replaces. Wrexham ended up with a stronger team than they started with - James and Broadhead particularly. We ended up with a weakened team -because Marti thought that at 1-0 late in the game it was a great time to get Skipp on to do Skipp things which is basically mainly watch the game go by as an onfield spectator.
-
As soon as he came on we were effectively down to 10 men tonight. Terrible decision by Marti to bring him on. Schooled by Broadhead continually and lost him for the goal. Matty James gave Skipp a lesson in how a midfield sub should impact a game.
-
Got ripped apart to the point that Monga should’ve seen he was having an absolute mare and helped him way more than he did. It was obvious he was getting hooked at half time. Only problem is VK is barely an improvement but at least he does try and go forward.

Give the lad credit I thought he did well tonight. Some of his lay offs were real quality and nearly scored. -
Again. Thought JJ ran him close though.

Aluko plays right hand side or central.

It’s usually an expensive plain top with a badge on the arm. Bit harsh
-
He did have a howler and it was compounded by us getting knocked out and thus he’s missed a second opportunity to impress in a cup match. The season is very early and Nelson will get his chance. He just needs to grab it by the scruff of the neck when it happens. Every time Faes has a brain fart like the goal last night he gets closer. Okoli might be ahead at the moment but his lack of ability on the ball will ultimately trip him up in this system.

Omfg🤦🏻

Monga is great but for me there’s no problem with him being the ‘finisher’ off the bench or rotating that role with Mavididi. They are both excellent players and create opportunities.
-
So Ric what do you mean? 🤷🏻♂️

Harsh to blame Soumare from that goal and a harsh review of his performance. I get it, he’s been poor for us but in the last two games alongside Winks he’s been good. He probably will eventually be replaced by JJ though Marti prefers two number 6’s and a 10 whereas I think JJ is a 8 and best suited to an Enzo sytem. So it will probably happen if the manager tweaks his system to a single pivot. That being said Soumare was good yesterday. Lots of positive forward passes and drive. -

The problem was Soumare was having a good game with Winks so there was no deeper role for James to drop in to. I -

Sorry don’t know what you mean mate. He put some fantastic passes in to danger areas, particularly in the first half. -

Yeh and a draw away at West Brom isn’t a bad result. -

Come on mate that’s not true. He isn’t a number 9 but he can be outstanding at this level. He was brilliant against Oxford. MOTM and a goal. That’s not an abhorrent player. -

Whilst we continue to concede the 1st goal then teams will play like this.
