Premier league clubs to vote on scrapping VAR
funkyrobot replied to David Hankey's topic in Leicester City Forum
VAR for offsides is fine and it’ll be quicker next season when it’s semi automated. It prevents onside goals being disallowed. Removing that from top level football would be a backwards step. -
Percy article enzo set to stay, vardy and vesty new deals
funkyrobot replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s a shame we can’t find a place for Akgun if the article is correct. I thought he looked good and would probably find it easier in the less physical surroundings of the Premier League compared to The Championship. -
I don’t really understand why on social media it’s considered to be unacceptable to point out a hypocrisy or (to use a favourite derogatory word of yours) to identify a whattaboutery in someone’s argument or standpoint?
-
It’s genuinely laughable that you’d actually compare the two from an ability perspective. One is a right sided holding midfielder, not particularly impressively defensively (check out his stats) but a great leader with good energy, good positional sense and very consistent. One is a left sided attacking midfielder, a strong runner with the ball who looks to assist and score goals. The only thing they have in common is that they are both midfielders.
-
Do you not realise the honours you win as a footballer are directly related to the team that you play for? Hendo played an entirely different role for a better Liverpool than KDH does for a clearly not as good Leicester. Hendo was a leader on the pitch for Liverpool but he wasn’t in there for his creativity, his breaking from midfield, his assists or his goals. The reason this debate started was someone posted that Liverpool could buy KDH as a Hendo-type player. Other than both being midfielders, they have a totally different skillset and role.
-
That’s due to Hendo playing for a big 6 club and KDH playing for a club with a fraction of the budget of Liverpool. Less to do with the comparable abilities of the two players or even the completely different roles they played for their respective clubs.
-
Only makes sense if the selling of KDH costs us less points than a points deduction!
-
Yeh but KDH is a completely different type of footballer. Certainly more creative, a better finisher and better at assisting but not the leader that Hendo is. But as I say not the same type of player at all.
-
You ITK? The player doesn’t want to leave and it’s not like the era when Pipes was forced out, nor are we facing administration. If a big 6/7 club comes in for him then maybe he’ll go m, but Brighton? Fulham? Brentford? Can’t see it. He’ll have his wages cut if he joins one of these clubs for a start.

If you look back through this thread, most of the ridicule has come from those taking the stand against the club and the potential sponsors. As someone not taking that stand I’ve had my intellect questioned, been accused of whattaboutery and of ignorance! I just want to switch off every weekend and enjoy watching the foxes, and sometimes I’ll wear a crap overpriced polyester adidas LCFC shirt whether that says King Power, FBS, PTT or Pukka fkin Pies on the front. We aren’t sponsored by Ed Sheeran or Flamingo Land so it’s not all bad.
-
The comment which sparked my original response on this thread and subsequent discussion was the one that stated fvck king power and fvck every fan who wears the shirt. Fans like me will buy the shirt for ourselves and for our kids because we want the current LCFC shirt, irrespective of sponsor. That’s not ignorance, that’s weighing up what we choose to prioritise as a fan supporting a football club. That position should be as respected as those fans who choose not to wear the shirt because of their standpoint.
-
I’ve heard there’s been a hold up with negotiations.
-
Not sure KDH would appreciate being called a Hendo-type player. I’d say he’s got a bit more quality and creativity to his game than that!
-
Makes me laugh that to NOT take a moral stand against the football club you support is being ridiculed by those who choose to use their energy to rail against their own club on here. Equally ‘whattaboutery’ if you want to use that annoying buzzword that’s used often these days to quell any alternative opinion. It’s like choosing to buy and wear a Leicester Shirt and someone being abusive to you on this thread because you haven’t taken their extreme stance against the club your support, at a time when all extra revenue will benefit the club’s survival in the Premier League.
-
Maybe you are upset because you can’t process the difference between a cosplay event and a supporter attending a football match?
-
No there’s been the same criticism for King Power too. So our current sponsor and owner as well as this potentially made up new sponsor as well. We’ll just have to hope for a multi million sponsorship deal with Amnesty International that will help the club adhere to FFP but appease the critics on here.
-
I never really understand why a grown adult choosing to wear the shirt of the club they support to a match or wherever upsets other grown adults so much tbh.
-
The best thing for those who have such extreme views on Leicester City’s shirt sponsors and equally extreme views of the owners of our club King Power would be to not to support the club. Go and support the much more socially conscious Forest Green Rovers.
-
Love a smug, arrogant post, flexing your intelligence and suggesting I am thick. You were the one who wanted to fvck King Power, fvck PTT and fvck those many thousand of us who will buy the shirt. That’s not a particularly intelligent post and maybe that’s why you get clearly uneducated people like me responding to you. The fact is the mining of the materials that have made your phone, your tablet and your laptop will have also originated from or contributed to human rights violations. So yeh maybe get your flags out and your morse code out, at least that way you’ll be able to demonstrate your intellect whilst at the same time posting less abuse on here.
-
If any sponsorship deal will help us adhere to FFP at a very critical and urgent point in the history of the club then I’m all for it whoever that sponsor is tbh.
-
The old lazy copy and paste of that rubbish posturing picture again that is used to justify how people can have extreme views about some human rights violations (and daggers’ original comment was extreme!) but completely ignore others when those human rights violations are needed to suit their lifestyle.
-
If you are so concerned about human rights violations that you want to fvck everyone associated, you might want to check how the materials that are sourced to make your phone or laptop that you used to write this have been extracted. Once you’ve checked out how cobalt, tin, tantalum, gold, tungsten and lithium can be mined and traded you’ll need to add to the list of those you wish to fvck! 😂
