Great idea for a FT sweepstake. Would be funny.

In my view, RvN was awful, but, in his mitigation, he was given a bad toolbox. He simply wasn't up for the task of utilising what he had in that poorly-stocked box in any shape or form. More damningly, he also wasn't happy with some of the better tools in the box and decided to not use them. Cooper was bad too. Was too young to assess McLintock. But the winner for me is between Peter Taylor, who just edges Dave Bassett. Taylor took a decent team, brought in awful players and tried to build around those awful players. However, Basset must carry a lot of the responsibility for that 2002 relegation. That squad still had decent players in it and, although no team is too good to go down – that team should've been too good to go down.

Helpfully, I'm half Finnish, so can open this up a bit. JJK and City have worked together since 2002 – and Petrescu coming over to us was part of that. There is now an official partnership agreement between the two clubs. I remember us going over there for a couple of pre-season games at around the time when the partnership was first announced. The fox in the logo is part of that partnership agreement. Additionally, the team's nickname is "Foxes" and they use it particularly in their junior and pathway work. Link below and you might see a familiar mascot. https://juniorit.jjk.fi/uutiset/127593/kettufutis-jjk-juniorien-harrastepolulla-paaroolissa-on-liik Not sure how active the collaboration is these days, but that's the story of the "Finnish Foxes" in a nutshell.

I believe this very question was tackled by the Foxes Trust, in a statement shortly after the first of our two recent relegations.

I personally don't get it at all. The only thing I can think about is the Argentinian connection – that he's mates with either Enzo Fernández or Garnacho and is there to make them happy? Garnacho and Buonanotte were both born 2004 and played together in the U20 team. Far-fetched, but you never know.

Classic Rudkin would be Rennes wanting €5.5m, then Rudkin offering £5m, thinking he's playing hardball. -

Nah. He's just caught a glimpse of Vesty's dog running around the place. -

And Ulloa and Buonanotte...? No. It was an attempted joke and part of a superstitious ritual. Every time we sign a South American, someone needs to say that they are our first signing from *insert country here*. If we don't, the player in question will be rubbish. It started with Tete who was genuinely our first Brazilian. And rubbish. -

LCFC 2-0 Birmingham, post-match thread
HitchinFox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
As a chair and club owner, he's done a good job, granted. But plenty of wrong with him when it comes to talking about football and assessing what happens on the pitch. -

Chris Davies sounds a bit like that dickhead Marc White from Dorking Wanderers in his post-match interview. "We dominated. We were the better team." Result? 0-2 -

Great result. Important 3 points that could prove significant at the end of the season. Ok performance, to be fair, too, at this stage of the season. Considering that we've still got a new manager learning about his squad and there's ongoing disruption of the transfer window playing a role. -
This is going to sound geeky and/or irrelevant, but the positioning of the ref is really pissing me off. He's really poor. Gets himself in the way of play and also misses things because he's "too close" to things.

I'm sure he's a lovely lad, but Demarai is one of those footballers who should never be interviewed, if at all possible. 😂

He comes across like a right dickhead because he is, basically, a right dickhead. Not to add, he's also handsome, wealthy and American and is, by all accounts, a bit of a fan of the NFL. Which never helps either. -

I enjoyed keeping a tally on the number of different spellings I saw for "Schmeichel". But it was "Casper" that disappointed me the most. -
Accurate.

The Leeds fans' view is that it's no coincidence that Bamford's best career performances coincided with the pandemic. Apparently, he's "too intelligent" for football and overthinks everything – hence he falls apart under the slightest of pressure. Playing at empty stadiums was, they say, perfect for him. To be fair, "great in training, useless in games" has been a view that has followed him around for years. -
Yeah, they do. It's a funny one, because studies comparing the two surfaces have consistently proven that it's a myth. There is no evidence of there being more serious injuries on 3G surfaces than on natural grass. So it's all in the players' (and coaches') heads. Obviously, a 3G surface will play slightly differently to a natural grass pitch, but that's a different matter.

James Justin sold to Leeds United - Official

I'm now convinced that he has been sidelined and someone else is doing his job. Doing it properly, I might add. -
As some have suggested on the Justin thread, the decent business we have been doing selling assets is very, very out of character for Rudkin. So much so that I doubt it is him pulling the strings on them. I say this without any inside knowledge whatsoever, but I wouldn't be surprised if Whelan and Top have given Rudkin a bit of a backseat on things (or he himself has voluntarily stepped back) and this dude Glover has taken over the reigns in this window. In his pre-match interview on Saturday, Marti said he is working with "Jon and the rest of the team every day" on the squad, so not suggesting Rudkin isn't in the picture at all. But perhaps the actual negotiating and dealing with sales has been given to someone else.

Called people ostriches, fight a pack of wild dogs wearing shiny white trainers and brought in some female Thai "entertainers"? God I miss him.

Doubt it. Based on their first two games, I think the Hammers fans think they've already acquired one dildo from us this summer.

Mate, I think everyone connected to LCFC – from the board and coaching staff to fans – have already exhausted all other avenues trying to somehow improve Daka, so please give it a go.
