Premier League 2025/26 Thread
HitchinFox replied to OntarioFox's topic in General Football and Sport
The Great Scriptwriter has got Forest's storyline spot on. I'm delighted, as it will inflict maximum pain on their fans. Going from "can we do a Leicester" and "Champions League - back where we belong" – which made them think of Marinakis and Nuno as gods – to a situation where they are now questioning Marinakis and have Dyche. Beautiful. The stagnation and Dyche's methods will also mean that Gibbs-White and Anderson will want to leave next summer. The rest will take care of itself. Well played. -
Can't believe we're not smashing these. They are gash. Which means that we must be too.

Daka might be an awful, awful striker. But he seldomly is at fault or causes us to concede. Carranza, on the other hand...
-
Sky deciding to show "that" Watford game highlights before the game is surely a sign...
-
I remember going on a bit of a rant when we let Sidnei Tavares go. "Just shows we can't hold of our best talent" etc. Having now secured Monga's signature, I wasn't only wrong about Tavares (who's gash), but the bit about us not keeping our best too.

Swansea player: "Corner, ref!!" Ref: "Yep, penalty."
-
Just need a striker who can read passes. That was a lovely move - foiled by the illiterate Daka.

About time. Jon out next, please, Top. Both will no doubt be given jobs within the KP duty free business. While their skillsets would place Susan on the perfume counter and Rudkin emptying the bins, they'll probably end up back in the boardroom.

Jack the Hack also clearly relies on AI to help generate his copy. When you work with it everyday, you begin to identify and recognise when it has been used.

Marti has done lots of things right this season (Oxford second half perhaps best example), but also lots of things wrong. Even entertaining the idea of bringing on Skipp as part of plans to "shore things up" is absolutely, 100%, utterly and completely criminal.

I'm beginning to think Martí reads FT when deciding the team.

I can't believe that Danny Ward, after everything he didn't do for us, hasn't got the decency to play tonight and return the favour. His elbow injury merely means he can't use one of his arms. I really don't see how that would somehow affect his typical performance, so it's a silly excuse. Unbelievable. Extremely disappointed with him.

It was endearing to watch how the yanks actually began to think they could still win today. All gone very quiet. Makes it all even better. Can't wait to watch the trophy presentation.

Level of refereeing and officiating in England is a joke. For a few years in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, when the Prem money helped develop referees, we were ahead of the curve. The refs and PGMOL then believed the hype, got some lucrative teaching/ref coaching gigs in other countries and the whole scene got arrogant. The rest of the world has long since caught up and we now consistently have, collectively, the worst officials when it comes to the professional game across the top five European leagues. Awful.

Viva er Betis

Good. It's become nearly as bad as Not The Top 20. And that's saying a lot.

In other "fellow-relegated-club" news, Southampton are struggling badly. As expected, Will Still is far from a magician. Think his best achievement in football to date remains that he, as a ginger lad, somehow bagged himself Emma Saunders.

Silence, you. Of course I am - no dissent allowed. Or I'll smear Novichok on your door handles.

It's the team we all have been calling for!!!! Marti Army! * * Now look us get battered 0-4

Leicester 3-2 Villa … 10 years on
HitchinFox replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
So true. I watch a lot of Italian football and was so excited when he signed. He was very good for Napoli, but clearly just couldn't adjust to the Premier League (and the way we played) for some reason. To be fair, as it turned out, at 31 he had already seen his best years by the time he came to us. -
Shit. Forgot that! At least we weren't the only ones to suffer from his inadequacies. Remember when the infamous Dave Hockaday got appointed Leeds Manager by that crazy Italian owner? Guess who Hockaday appointed as assistant coach, picking him up from his safe place, Hendon (who were in the eighth tier at the time)? Yep.
-
Junior Lewis. Because he went on to play 24 more times for us after his debut.

What. A. Goal. Te amo, Martí.
