  1. If true, Obama not endorsing Biden is the nail in the coffin. I do believe Biden was going to withdraw this week but couldn't after the Trump shooting. It seems not coincidental he does an interview saying he would only pull out if he got seriously ill, then be struck down with COVID hours later. https://news.sky.com/story/trump-shooting-assassination-attempt-biden-latest-live-sky-news-blog-13177655?postid=7990307#liveblog-body My landlord lives in the US and if Trump wins I am almost certain he will either come back and want his house back or try and sell this place, if his friend who does the repairs to the house is to be believed. I have never been such an avid follower of US politicos.
  2. I love this sent me down a rabbit hole to which I found this whole thing has it's own Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_aboard_aircraft_and_ships
  3. Not really. My wife could be on a flight to Egypt and her waters break. You are the nationality of the first country you land in. I am English and my wife is half Irish but our kid would now be Egyptian technically. Patriotism isn't usually a love of a stretch of land or what defines your life. It is where you are raised that defines it. Personally I think patriotism is just basically the influence of religion and politics more than a love of whats within your borders. A lot of the "patriots" you meet around the world will have an undercurrent of religion or political lean.
  4. The Republican Manifesto seems be not landing well with some undecided US voters, especially around the free market and national debt. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/15/business/economy/trump-economy-rnc-policy-free-market.html It also seems he has not got the bounce in the polls expected after his assassination attempt on Saturday. Still seems to be Biden needs replacing and whoever comes in needs to take Trump head on. BIden is the millstone of the Democrats at the moment and needs to put the pride aside and accept his is 1 term president and let someone like Harris take a shot.
  5. https://ticket-compare.com/premier-league-away-ticket-allocations/#:~:text=The away allocation in the,the seats in the stadium. "home clubs must offer the visiting team a minimum of 3,000 tickets if their capacity exceeds 30,000. If their capacity is lower, the minimum away allocation in the Premier League must be 10% of the seats in the stadium." If it is down to redevelopment, they will still have to find 1,307 ish tickets for away fans, even if it means moving home ST holders for the game. They don't think it will be ready until 2027. They will have to have a long term plan and are really gambling they don't have a bad season and get relegated like some other clubs who announced stadium expansions and then fell down a league
  6. I can't find definitive proof I am right with this, but are we only currently selected for TV on August 19th and the rest are not in yet? I have a NowTV and TNT subscription for my grandad so I don't want to be paying for it if I have no reason. Before anyone says anything, at 80 years old it took long enough for get him to learn NowTV TV app, I am not even going to try and get him using IPTV.
  7. Back on it after 6 weeks off. I was hoovering an the Xbox landed on my foot corner first. I am now self banned from hoovering and on a return from injury programme, basically starting back at 1 min run, 1 min walk. Better than nothing though. My goal is to get my 5k below 30 mins before December. Should be possible as long as I avoid housework.
  8. Allardyce said he would have kept the old guard in past their years? I do wonder what we would have achieved under him. Sod all is my bet.
  9. I hear Martinez may be in the market and going for the hat trick of messing up international teams?
  10. It did include however a last minute smash and grab against Tunisia, us panning a country that is basically just a canal and a tactical but they claimed it wasn't attempt to draw against Belgium and we lost it to get an earlier route. Columbia was good to shake the penalty voodoo, but we were minutes away from not needing ET and shipped in a late goal. Sweden was a good game and the first half of the Croatia game were great. Whatever was said at half time in that semi messed us up. Probably being told to sit on the 1-0.
  11. Man had more luck than anyone fixture wise or last minute saviours that he makes Trump seem unlucky, and that man literally dodged a bullet over the weekend.
  12. If Potter gets it, I honestly believe he turned us down/we didn't move forward with him because he was holding out for this opportunity. Still think the U21s gaffer deserves a run at it.
  13. Will be interesting to see if we get General Sale this year also. You will get the faireweathers back, but whether they will have the points is the question.
  14. As expected, Potter is bookies favourite. I still want to see them give the U21's manager a try. He has experience with some of these guys, has managed internationally and would be substantially cheaper. The fact Southgate was the top paid manager at the Euro's at £5m a year was just insane.
  15. We've all done that, but not an 11 hour walk home surely.
  16. Looks like they have found a body of a male in the hunt for Jay Slater. Horrible news for the family, regardless of everything mentioned on social media etc.
  17. Turning up ticketless is one thing that I can't stand. Doing so and taking your dog is another...
  18. 4 draws in 90 minutes in 6 games got us to the final. Spain had 1 game go to Extra Time and even then were dangerous. Southgate saying having 1 less day to prep is just an awful excuse. We were good for probably 5 minutes of the whole tournament and were reliant on screamers.
  19. Olympics start a week on Friday. What we thinking lads?
  20. Because he managed the U21s and Alladyce decided to have a pint of wine and screw himself. The current U21s manager has won more with them than Southgate did. He deserves a crack at it. Southgate doesn't want to or know how to play football. Any attacking manager would have at least took us down swinging. If we had gone out and had 5 shots on target but lost 2-0, it's better than sitting and going "right..drawing again, let's go back to that thing that wasn't working before." He wears arm bands to drink cuppa soup this guy and if asked would say his favourite colour is beige. Utterly useless.
  21. He did relegate Boro before he got this England job. I think you are 100% correct.
  22. At this point I believe Kane is cursed. Saka bless him looks utterly dejected. Pickford won't be at Everton next season for sure. Spain can be a late tournament force for a few years now.
  23. Expected. We could have had them if we had played more positive. Southgate out and anyone else who knows how to play attacking football in. Congratulations to Spain.
  24. I have no words as to a team with the players we have sitting back at every opportunity. It's awful.
  25. Dreadful. It was coming. Southgate can't play football when we are drawing.
