All of this but also the generalisation that all vegans (2-3 million in the uk) think the same way - there are many reasons for choosing a plant based diet. I dare say that there are anthropocentric individuals who may be Vegan. Also, how can you be anthropocentric and not acknowledge the importance of the rest of the ecosystem and balance of human interaction given the evidence surrounding climate change. It doesn’t matter how high up on the evolutionary chain you are when facing climate catastrophe. One of the stats that I find most disturbing is that livestock make up 62% of the world's mammal biomass; humans account for 34%; and wild mammals are just 4% Frightening… @leicsmac changing to vegetarian or plant based diet is THE easiest thing anyone can do as an individual to do their bit. Much easier and affordable than reducing your fossil fuel use by changing your car to ev or replacing your boiler with a heat pump system.

One of my go to songs when I’m feeling down. I chose this live performance over the studio version purely for Maynard’s stage presence

Lots of reports of Ukrainian men fleeing the country to avoid conscription, in fact I’ve read reports of conscription squads searching for anyone of eligible age as they are so short of manpower.
-
This is so true. The current Israeli administration is full of terrorists and ruthless genocidal maniacs and yet is still being courted by the west.
-
Not sure of the numbers but I’ve seen several articles about Ukrainian men fleeing to avoid forced conscription. The whole thing is a sh1tshow

And there’s certainly no hint of it in either of these two parties 😂

Yes but not for long. Shingles jab wiped me out for a week

I’m in the process of replacing 600m of stock fencing to stop the cattle breaking into my garden. Had a few sheep in but they go straight back the way they came without a problem but the cattle just go wherever they want and it’s difficult and dangerous to march them back along my drive to the gate. I use a quad to round them up and push them.

Excellent verdict. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2024/oct/14/anti-zionist-beliefs-worthy-respect-uk-tribunal-finds-israel

I agree it was a mistake. I also think it was genuinely used in a colloquial way as a way to get heads around the table - who knows, those actions may have helped avoid the slaughter we've witnessed this past year. Anyway, I'm not particularly a Corbyn fan, I just fail to comprehend the hatred for him when he is/was so ineffectual.

"MP Jeremy Corbyn has explained why he described Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends” during a parliamentary meeting on the Middle East. The Labour leadership candidate said he had used the term in a "collective way" but insisted he does not agree with what either organisation does. "There is not going to be a peace process unless there is talks involving Israel, Hezbollah and Hamas and I think everyone knows that," he told Channel Four News." *from The Jewish Chronicle

Yeah but it’s based on nothing but gut instinct… 😂😂😂

For me it’s more about what favours might be involved in the receiving of such gifts. Nobody gives gifts of such magnitude for nothing. In any case, they should all know better than to invite such controversy, especially after calling out the previous administration for their shady dealings.

Leicester City and VfL Bochum - Blue and White Friendship
jgtuk replied to AndWhat?'s topic in Leicester City Forum
Well, I know people there from Leicester and other English areas but not Foxes fans. I played football there, coached a youngsters team and was part of the community for years. As for Cymraeg, Dolgellau is known as a strong Welsh speaking area, the school is first language Welsh and its evident in the pubs and shops. In tourist season it’s less obvious. My wife and two daughters are fluent Welsh speakers. The Bochum sticker is intriguing. -

Lived in Dolgellau for a few years, moved away 2 years ago but didn’t know any other Leicester fans? -
Yes, good spot 👍

The Wieliczka salt mine is worth a visit too 👍

It’s a brilliant app but no substitute for learning yourself. I started learning bird calls and song from an early age as sometimes you never see the bird and it’s crucial to identification.

I also worked for a very short time on that project. Was more involved in the Red Kite project in mid Wales. I’m not a twitcher either but I do go out to see particular species and have kept records for (too) many years. Holidays are sometimes planned around migration times. Luckily I have a very understanding Wife who has no interest whatsoever in wildlife but allows me to indulge 😂

Spent most of my life working with, protecting and studying them. They’re my passion and therapy.

Some birds tap the ground to mimic the sound of rainfall, bringing worms to the surface, you can see this in your gardens if you have common birds like the Blackbird or Song Thrush.
