Same here. No gas in our valley or for miles around. 64p per day standing charge and 23p per kWh The standing charge is too high but is tiny in comparison to the usage charges, especially in the winter. Luckily we have 2 wood burners which help but they donāt heat the whole house.

This x 1000 Done more than my share over the years but you couldn't pay me to go to a festival at all now. My daughter sings in a band and does the festivals every year but I won't even go to see her. Best gigs i've been to have all been low key small affairs, normally early on in the bands career.

Our centre takes household items, furniture, electrical appliances etc so no excuse for dumping this stuff, the building materials thing is our local issue

My local recycling centre won't take any building materials, or anything to do with DIY without charging, it's run by a waste management company no longer the council. I was an early adopter with the R5 and next to no RF lenses that I wanted were available so I bought the Canon adapter and used my existing collection, all high end white models, and they worked well. Bought my first RF lens and the difference in having a dedicated system was amazing so over the following months I sold them all and transitioned to full RF. Third party barely exists for mirrorless unfortunately

Havenāt been for a long time but certainly wouldnāt spend a few days there unless you have something planned, hiking or climbing , thereās a few museums and galleries and I remember eating well there, although expensive but no worse than prices in Switzerland. Others may have been more recently though and their experience might be different.

I come across this so often, itās almost as though one is better than the other. I was a Nikon owner in the late 80ās, got offered a mega upgrade for a Canon and never looked back. Not interested in tribalism over something so petty. As long as it does what I need it to do then Iām happy.

They might seem left if you're American or maybe in comparison to some of the others you entertain. Boggled my mind a bit when I was in the States and watched for the first time

Lovely piece of kit in its day.

I planned carefully and most borders I crossed were either unmanned or the staff were nonchalant. Others just made me empty the sack and asked a few questions but I didn't really encounter any more than that.

I used to keep them in sandwich bags taped up when exposed, I think I guarded them more than my passport š. Bear in mind that I only had a rucksack too. A sleeping bag, bivi sheet and some clothes, I look back and wonder how I managed š

I grew up on Zenith and Praktika, took them on all my travels taking more than 2500 images. Took 50 rolls of 35mm with me and bought more along the way. Didnāt get some processed for years as I couldnāt afford it. Labelled and dated them and posted home whenever I could.

Anyone seen the third strip on third party sites? Looked at DHGate and BQL etc.

Great camera. If I hadnāt been so invested in Canon for so long Iād have considered it. I also have full frame mirrorless, Canon R5 but managed to slim down the lenses to ones Iāll actually use. My RF100-500 just about lives on the camera now though, absolutely stunning lens.

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to get quotes from professionals for the big jobs, work out what you can do yourself, or friends and family (removing wallpaper, removing paint and prepping woodwork etc) as you will at least save on labour costs. If you are up for a challenge, do some plumbing yourself, as long as itās not gas work. Itās not rocket science and the internet is full of guides and information. Good luck with your project, just bear in mind that it will always take more time and money than you plan for so leave a percentage in your budget š

Dangerous game, so many genres - I can help you with wife type excuses when you need a new cupboard for your equipment, several different sizes of bag, flashes, light deflectors etc etc. Start with āno, this one is years old or Iāve borrowed it from xyz, I got this when I traded in xyz I forgot, you have motorbike s so already know these š

What lenses are you using? Whatās your preferred style of photography? I love landscape/seascape (easily accessible where I live) but mostly wildlife/bird photography now. Gone down the macro path too, thoroughly engaging but equally frustratingā¦
