Only been to the resorts on the gulf of Aqaba, albeit about six times, mainly for the diving. Haven't been for about 25 years though and it's probably changed immensely. What do you want from the holiday? Pool, beach, hotel or diving, excursions etc. I found them all very similar in standard and quality, no bad stories to relay particularly. Sharm, Hurghada and Taba were all popular holiday/diving resorts back then, my favorite being the Hilton in Taba. Was quite exclusive back in the day but was hit by a car bomber (drove into the lobby, if I recall correctly). The reef was excellent and you can see Israel, Jordan and Saudi from the hotel. Yau can walk into Israel across the border and take a taxi to Eilat for a dive trip or visit the town/beach there. A 2/3 hr bus ride away is Mount Sinai and St Catherines monastery. If you get a bus, try to arrive at around 10pm and if you are a decent hiker you'll reach the summit in time for watching an amazing sunrise. Walk down and you should be in time for the Monastery opening and beat the crowds, have a couple of hours there (see the original burning bush!!) and get the bus back to Taba in time for the afternoon. This is all from memory and may be quite different now . Someone else will be able to help with more recent trips maybe... Have a good time. Never had an issue in Egypt (maybe lucky!) India though, I remember riding an Enfield Bullet at stupid speeds (then girlfriend, now wife on the back) on dirt roads to get to a toilet and dropping the bike on the floor to run for wherever I could go

Pretty sure stealing from any employer is an instant dismissal though, always has been wherever I’ve worked.

£6.20 to pick up from Manchester airport, only in the car park for less than 2 minutes 🤬

You might be overanalysing a bit 😂

Times I regret not asking more questions when mine were alive, you can’t put a price on the memories and information lost when they are gone.

Israel consistently use the “human shield” excuse.

That’s amazing news. Good luck 🤞

Unbelievable that people still maintain that stance (constantly on this forum too) given the evidence.

Also not good for the environment, made from plastic microfibres.

Apparently, all of the major food and drink items worldwide are owned by ten huge conglomerates (all American, I think). Imagine the lobbying power of these ten and then we may understand why they get away with the stuff they do, like the tobacco industry before them...

Brilliant set at Glastonbury too

It's not possible to cover everything - your info was spot on. Also, forgot to add that I agree, the Zoe podcast and website has some brilliant info and it's worth checking out for others that are interested.

This has another 20% off now

I sometimes think we've swapped one set of diseases for another set though. Food producers are not stupid when it comes to profit and most of the suppliers still get away with advertising crap as having health benefits (such as cereal and yoghurt as previously mentioned). The general public want cheap, tasty food and guess what - UPF's provide just that, to the detriment of the masses that buy it. Anyway, this is probably worthy of a thread of it's own.

All of this but you forgot SEEDS... I add them to everything and absolutely love them. Sunflower, Hemp, Pumpkin, Flax, Sesame, Chia, Wild rice, Pomegranate, Quinoa etc. Cut down on meat and dairy, find alternatives. Experiment with vegetables, you'll be surprised how many dishes don't need meat. I fast from my evening meal until lunch the following day, every day. Been doing this for years. Water intake!! Not tea or coffee (or Vimto ). If you insist on eating bread, go for 100% wholemeal flour or a seeded wholemeal. Rye or Sourdough are also better than bleached bread. Get outdoors whenever possible, daylight is very good for mental and physical health. Walk, cycle or run on short journeys. 100 press ups a day, plank 3 times a day. Do these in sets that are managable for you. Yoga is fantastic for general health and fitness, flexibility and strength training all in one PLUS all of the benefits linked to relaxation and focus. Quality sleep patterns are massively important, too much to go into in this thread but cutting down on social media, regular exercise and yoga will help. It can't be stressed enough that modern life (food manufacturers!) is killing us - the above info on UPF's is crucial to understanding health. Alcohol intake, smoking, vaping etc. are all no brainers to moderate/quit. Finally (and this should probably go in the unpopular opinions thread) TAKEAWAYS... Just stop!

Good shout - Was also looking here but market doesn't open until 29th Nov and we have a time slot from 27th to 30th unfortunately.

Was on my list but had some friends talked wife into Berlin to meet up. Seems to be very nice as Christmas Markets go from what I've been told. Had great times at the Krakow and Warsaw markets, I'd imagine Gdansk to be similar.

Yes, wasn't keen at first but it's grown on me and I really like it now.

Just booked 3 nights Christmas market break in Berlin. Return visit but not for many years. Apparently Vegan food capital of Europe which will be interesting.

There are several stages to this. That initial test result can be absolutely overwhelming, even though it’s not definitive. The waiting and not knowing is incredibly destructive for your mental health and, as a knock on effect, your physical health too. If the results prove positive, there are many, many ways it could go but we, being human, focus on the worst case scenario, it’s almost impossible not to. I was first diagnosed in 2008 after having minor symptoms for some time. I was treated with surgery, removal of tumours, and have had many treatments since. Bloods taken every 3 months, and a full test regime every 12 months, including scans etc. I’m on long term antibiotics as my immune system is compromised and suffer minor illnesses constantly. I’m relatively fit and able and not disabled in any way. My life just changed in 2008. The trick is to learn to live with illness and there are many thousands of people living relatively ordinary lives whilst having all sorts of illnesses, including many cancers. I think we’re conditioned to believe that cancer = imminent death (of course it can) but it very often doesn’t. I hope you can find some peace of mind currently and your outcome is positive.
