  1. How do you know that this is the case. Do you have inside info?
  2. If, 2 years ago, we'd lost an extra game early on and that had prompted the board to replace Rodgers then, as long as the replacement was a little bit competent, the gain over the rest of the season would have been much more than the 3 points lost and would have kept us in the Prem. So no, the comments on this thread aren't nonsense, but are based on the evidence of our performances and on the analytical abilities of fans who have followed Leicester for years and can see in which direction things are going. On the basis of the performances so far, and the match choices made by Cooper, we will be very lucky to avoid relegation if he is kept on. Were you one of those who ignored what you could see happening 2 years ago and wanted Rodgers to be given more time and chance after chance until it was too late?
  3. On a personal note completely unrelated to this thread --good to see another ex-Yeti alive and kicking
  4. Fair enough
  5. Like Everton at home?
  6. Is this another of those badly written Prem League rules? Of course he should be sacked now if that's in the best interests of the club.
  7. Nevertheless, our manager last season failed to give him a proper go in the championship, preferring Daka. It's a shame. Had he been given a proper run last season then he might have developed sufficiently to be a useful option up front this season.
  8. Interesting to read the report of Ben Nelson's first game for Oxford at the weekend. Their manager aware of his lack of game time and his need to bed into the match. Apparently took 20 mins to settle but then played superbly in a v solid defensive display. Apparently insisted on a loan away as he could see he was going to be given v little pitch time at Leicester. My point is that, looking at Alves and other promising youngsters, it is awful management to keep them in the squad but giving them no match time. It can surely only get them frustrated and see them losing their edge, sharpness, enehusia sm. Surely better to take a risk and give them at least the occasional minutes on the pitch. Their is always a balance to consider the long term interests of the club as well as the immediate.
  9. Whatever he says to improve them before they go out to play the second half, why hasn't it occurred to him to give the same talk before they go out to start the first half?
  10. That was stupid of Buanotte. Hope he gets stick from his teammates and learns from it. Just think of the difference it might have made to the result.8
  11. It's hard to understand. You only have to look back to our relegation season to remember that, although there were many on this forum who saw the way things were going early in the season, Rodgers appeared to command loyalty and acceptance from the majority in the stands (and the board) right to the end.
  12. They're getting even worse, then (My letters were by email so it was an automated response ... didn't mean the content was read)
  13. I sent the board 2 letters in that season, one after the first few games and another after Christmas, detailing how Rodgers was dragging the club down and concluding that relegation was a real possibility. The letters were acknowledged but ignored, of course. I was (unfortunately) proved right while the board only revealed their total ignorance and ineptitude. I applaud your intentions, but I wouldn't waste the effort again.
  14. What rumours, and how solid are they?
  15. Rodgers was the issue.
  16. Of course you can. In the last few minutes of a game he brings on a defender in a key position who is not properly warmed up or into the flow of the game. When faced with non-stop pressure and an attacker who is fast and balanced, in the box, it is the most likely outcome that he will misjudge the situation and stick out an incautious leg. An experienced manager should know very well the risk. It was a most foolhardy substitution.
  17. I can't understand this apologetic response to our situation re PSR. Talk about "technicalities" and "loopholes" is nonsense. We abided by the written rules; full stop.
  18. My immediate thoughts too. Interesting coincidence of timing that the league are currently bringing our players to book over their behaviour last Saturday but, of course, no taking into account the deficiencies of the ref. I think the Prem will be out to get us at every opportunity this season.
  19. Hard to see how Cannon can be less effective than any of our current strikers (barring Vardy in his good moments). And he has youth on his side, so if Cooper is as good as his reputation in coaching youngsters then Cannon is likely to improve, which you can hardly imagine possible for any of our other strikers.
  20. I'm hoping the reason is more along these lines and, as others have suggested, JJ was seen as the best option against Son. Against other opponents the it may be that Riccie is seen as the better alternative. There is also the consideration that Ricci has to be handled with care given the effect of his previous injuries. We will just have to wait and see.
  21. Ah, obviously we won. BBC website got stuck Well done lads.
  22. What's going on? Score stuck on 284 after 48.2 overs for 15 mins.
  23. Makes no odds. I was at the match and his 2 finishes were pure class.
  24. Agree with this. I don't think Maguire's lack of especially was exposed too much when he was with us before. He's v solid and reliable defensively, and would add a much-needed attacking threat at our set pieces. Admittedly, wages could be a problem.
  25. For me, this sums up the situation perfectly. I think it's a risk we can't afford not to take.
