  1. Much maligned by a few. Much respected by a many. Every player comes to the end of their time at some point, but I dont think thats MA yet
  2. Hes a decent enough home grown player. He's not crap or a walking disaster, but as a club we have moved on and we need better quality players. I don't think most would disagree with that assessment, but, that's no reason to do the player down.
  3. I think getting higher than we are now will be monumentally difficult, but hopefully we can, over time, begin to really cement our current place. Im personally optimistic
  4. Why are we (some) getting upset about a single poster on a single forum Who cares - the only thing that matters is what we do and not what some no mark says. Like all things internet forum, there is some truth in what he says and a fair bit of rubbish. Our world is by no means perfect - football is cyclic and for the less financially well off clubs the cycle can be short. We are doing well, but if we are still here, competing at the top end, in another few years then we can begin to believe that we really have transitioned from where we have been most of our history to the upper echelons. We can do this and I'm an optimist, but its also fragile until foundations are well and truly laid
  5. I suspect the vast majority of Arsenal fans are mortified and embarrassed by the antics of some and particularly those utter weapons at ArsenalTV. Be under no illusion though, that could easily be us - they walk amongst us

A lot of sad desperate for likes/clicks weirdos re posting rumours as though they actually have something credible is not traction

    Ryan Bertrand

if the commercials are good then I'm very positive about this. Good player with extensive Premier League experience. Starter or backup is for the staff to decide, but either way squad depth and quality improved. What's not to like....
  8. I thought exactly the same thing
  9. Late to this. That's a real hatchet job article. All insinuation and very little substance. Fairly typical for more than one rag. The article, its framing and narrative are all designed, explicitly, to promote negative connations without any real evidence - dont be conned by single point in time still photos. He may be a little shit for all I know, but this kind of 'journalism' and article wont convince me of it at all.

Suggesting that a player who has played under the direction of an 'anti-football' manager, to the tactics and style that manager insists on, can't play football is daft.
  12. That's actually quite impressive and to be fair to Rogers, all of us would want that problem and none of us would want to manage that problem. Experience, empathy, ruthlessness and no little skill are prerequisites. I'm glad we have our current manager.
  13. I finally succumbed and had a peep at his youtube vids. I feel cheap! Obvs these all have a big sample bias as regards the content, but the thing that really struck me and that im pretty excited about is just how much this lad is on his toes...... all the time. Quick of mind and quick to respond
  14. we havent even signed him yet
  15. Not to me - what did I miss? how so?

I'm surprised at the level of negativity around Maddison that's contained in this thread. He's a very good player indeed. He's had injuries Far from having a 'bad attitude' he strikes me as having a great attitude He's young and like ALL young people he might have made the odd bad decisions. Most of the accusations about bad decisions are utter tosh...see the paper hyperbole about the casino for example How many of us oldies don't continue to make bad decisions every day (ok Im not sure I would rock that bag!) He's a very good player indeed. My only issue is that occasionally I feel as though he slows the ball down to much

the swagger i can cope with...but that rucksack was a step to damn far!
  18. I know not everybody shares this view, but I want to see our local rivals in the Premier League with us. For me it makes games more intense and more exciting in the ground and ultimately that's why I love live football. The bedlam in the away end when Knockaert scored in the last minute at Forest away in 2013 to clinch that final play off position still makes me smile today
  19. This is the key point. We've had a great season, regardless as to today's result. I'm as disappointed as anybody else, but ultimately we just don't have the finances to gain the quality in depth that the monied clubs do. We cant compete easily when we get multiple key players injured.
  20. got to be honest, and I'm not proud to say it, but the critique of Spurs has cheered me up no end :-)
  21. A quote from somebody on that Wolves thread "If you could list all the clubs in order that other fans of the 92 clubs (excluding the sky 6) look at in envy and think ‘I wish that could be us one day’ Leicester would be top" Its hard to argue with that perspective right now and we would all do well to remember it when the odd game goes badly
  22. We will. Its inevitable with the money and human nature. As fans adapt to success then they become more expectant, which to everybody else looks like self entitlement and you begin to draw in a certain type of fan (not supporter). We are not some special club, or special group of supporters to think we are immune. Personally I like us just the way we are.
  23. I'm just going to have a long shower afterwards and act like it never happened
