How much did Leicester make this year through staying up?

How much did leicester profit this season from avoiding relegation and finishing 14th also TV money and sponsorship etc, Does anyone have a rough estimate?

It's £1.2 mill per position isn't it, so 14th would be £8.4 mill. Then every club gets an equal cut of TV money...I think. There was a handy table posted somewhere lat week.

If we finish 14th next season we would pocket a tidy £104m. I can imagine that is the owners target,

The new money starts in the 16/17 season... if we stay up next season I wouldn't rule out our first £20m player the year after.

A few years survival pulling in that kind of reward money, coupled with our well drilled management and Pearson's teams' track record of signing players could bring about some fantastically scary consequences. Let's hope they keep it up.

Sure? They quoted it on MOTD2 extra, being BBC I thought they couldn't be wrong

There's a hell of a difference between 'turnover' and 'profit'. Any figures on the latter out there?

No. Not for a while.

Wages I'd imagine would be around the £45-55m mark, similar to teams like Palace and Hull. Perhaps even more as we were pretty generous with wages in the championship. Then you have bonuses and fees etc. I certainly wouldn't be expecting us to make a huge profit.

As a comparison, Cardiff LOST £12m the season they were in this league, but they spent a lot more on players than we did.

I thought it was 55m equal share from deal, 8.6m place money and another 7.5m tv appearance money: just over 71m. Mind you got this info from the papers, so could be suspect.

At least similar next year hopefully, if not more. Not going down I think worth about 50m, next years money less parachute payment.

The new TV deal is 2016/17 and is predicted to net the bottom placed team £100m alone. The top teams can hope to earn between £150-175m. There's an upcoming battle in the USA for the PL rights which should swell the coffers even further.

Basically if we avoid relegation next season we will be minted beyond our dreams from the season after. This seasons earnings alone should be enough to propel us into the top 50 biggest turnovers in the world for a football club as well, as it did for the likes of Stoke, Palace etc.

It's looking pretty crucial that we stay up next season then.

Not being pedantic but it's top 40.

Last season all 20 PL clubs were in the world's top 40 richest clubs on income.

looking at that amount it really isn't that much in the premier league. especially with everyone going to be spending to survive next season to be in for the 16/17 season and when the TV money will expand by such a vast amount.

£68m in prize money but how much went on transfer fees/wages/upkeep/promotions etc?

granted ticket sales are going to help there but doesn't seem that much to me.

Not that much of an advantage though, as our earnings will still be relative to that of everyone around us. The increased income for all Premier League clubs will push up transfer fees so in relative terms we may not see a whole lot of difference.

The biggest difference will be the gap between the Prem and the Chamionship.

Top 40. I couldn't remember which top xx it was and would rather go with more than less. We'll see ourselves in there, which always sounds better.

Of course, the "minted" comment was more aimed at our income than relative to other clubs. The potential turnover from 2016/17 onwards (assuming we don't bloat our transfer fees and wages disproportionately) should obviously give us very long-term financial security. We'll still need excellent management from NP and his staff to keep us there as everyone battles to stay on the gravy train.

U.S. TV rights are still small compared to the main deal in the UK (NBC paid $240 million for the last 3 years) but every penny counts.

NBC raising the bar with the standards of their coverage (which translated into higher ratings and bigger profile for the league), ESPN needing to get back into the soccer after losing out on a few leagues and competitions, and Fox always being a player in the sports game is gonna make that total rise for the next 3 seasons.

I really hope NBC wins the rights again because their coverage is spectacular.
