Guest Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 he's young and a CB. get over yourself and give him time.
Guest Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 A season on loan at a decent championship club. Hopefully get some more experience and be somewhere close to ready to step up a level in the future.
L1wood Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Time ??? He is 22 now if he is going to make any serious impact as a premier league player he needs to make a massive improvement in the summer. Which by the looks of his performance last night for England there is isn't going to be. We have no room for sentiment this season to the players who got us promoted but are not upto premier league standard namely Moore,Drinkwater,Wood,Hammond then the players that joined but it's not worked out for Hamer , Simpson ,Lawrence . Time for a clear out free money up to bring good enough players in he's young and a CB. get over yourself and give him time.

Time for a clear out free money up to bring good enough players in Hamer didnt really do anything wrong. We won games and got clean sheets when he played. Distribution wasn't great at times but dont think he was given enough of a chance to be discarded. Should be solid number 2. Hammond was good enough too in the limited chances he got. Agree on the rest - Moore was poor but would send him away then give him another go in the future. Not all players mature at same rate.

SpacedX Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Fact is Liam Moore is out of favour because he is not good enough . Championship player no more & no less Invites a wry smile given our Captaincy.

Also Vardy, 25, conference football.
Bugg Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Also Vardy, 27, conference football.we signed him when he was 25...
TheMightySystem Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 we signed him when he was 25... :L derp moment changed now but the point still stands.
Bettsj2 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 He didnt look at all like a central defender last night. It may be the case that he's better in a 3 rather than a two (just like Morgan).

Time for a clear out free money up to bring good enough players in Drinkwater, far from his best last season but rather early to write him off,I for one think he will make a real positive impact for us this coming season.

matty98 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 If you look at most teams in the prem, you don't tend to find many young CB's, young players make mistakes and when you're a CB it often leads to goals, give him a couple of years out on loan to mature and then I reckon he'll be quality.
CountesthorpeFox Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I've always thought it's hard to judge centre backs under NP. I remember Hobbs saying how much he learnt (or words to that effect) under NP and his training methods. I was thinking how many centre backs have been solid here - worked under another boss and looked pretty average. When Sousa came in our defence suddenly looked laughable. Who has left to go on and get better at another club after working under NP? On Moore it's difficult. He was decent away at Stoke when we got a clean sheet and played in our performance of the season - I admit we did concede 3. That said he looked awfully uncomposed last night against a tricky Portugal attack and has been frozen out by some far more experienced defenders during our good run. His public body language ( he looked miserable at the awards night, genuinely plus looked disinterested at burnley away in the crowd) hasn't been great and that can't go well with NP. I don't think we should give up yet though, 22 is very young for a centre back and NP will only make him better, hopefully he realises that and knuckles down.
fleckneymike Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Some defenders know insticntively what to do, others need to face every scenario and learn, some face just a few scenarios and progress no further. Liam currently is somewhere between the final two. Two issues which he's yet to resolve are his insistance on always dropping deep and his poor distribution. Distribution isn't fatal, dropping deep is. These can be developed on the training ground to a certain extent but game time is the best way to learn.
