Ozieferret Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Aren't we getting a bit top heavy with guys 35 or over? We need speed at the back too.
kingcarr21 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 He is out of favour cause the step up looks to be too much. He wont get in ahead of Morgan, Was and Huth (if he signs). Best thing for me is to send him out on loan and have an option to recall him if either of the 3 mentioned get injured. I think Moore would be good enough eventually. We cant afford the luxury of carrying him in games though. I can see Moore flourishing with Huth alongside him. I hope Moore goes out on loan and gets gametime then forces his way into the first team when he returns. Also theyre not that old as TomB as rightly put
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Out of favour because so far hasn't showed any indication that he's up to Premier League football. As stated one player is over 35 and he's a reserve/soon to be coach. Was is one of the quickest centre halves in the country, much faster than Liam, so basically an entirely pointless post.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Yeah you're right, I'd love a guy who clearly isn't capable at this level to be in our starting line up because he's young and one of our own.
MPH Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Aren't we getting a bit top heavy with guys 35 or over? We need speed at the back too. you saved this to be your second post?
Spicer Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Moore is 21. Center backs don't flourish until later than attackers anyway. Lets not forget he played well the first few games this season. He will become a premiership player, but not yet.
Guest Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 ah, Another knock a Leicester player thread. This forum is very good at that. 98 on FM I'd think.
Ollie93 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 ah, Another knock a Leicester player thread. This forum is very good at that. 98 on FM I'd think. Not really knocking him is it, just stating he isn't ready to play premier league football yet? It's not exactly a "calamity Morgan" thread.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 So FIF, why isn't Moore in the team, given that was the question? Safe to assume he isn't considered to be Premier League standard by the staff at the club, hence his loan spell and not featuring in our squad. So you are indirectly criticizing the coaching staff/NP? There's always one.
Babylon Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 I've been hearing about us needing a "fast" centre back for years, Morgan was "too slow", Huth was "too slow", Was, yup "too slow"... we've done absolutely fine with them. How many times can you honestly say the centre backs have been troubled due to the pace of a striker, I can't think of too many.
Bagworthblue Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 He should become a very good player but positionally, he was out of step with the rest of the back 4 too often. If you watch the games back when he played and this is true also of the championship season, he anticipates and tracks the player's run and drops which is a natural instinct but not when the rest of the back 4 are holding line. Much of the time, he will win the ball and get applause from the crowd as it will seem like he has saved the day in a one on one. However, the flag should be up and free kick to us rather than corner to them! He also get's caught a little square too often and has a habit of forcing play towards goal rather than away from it when pressing. In time he will learn when to hold and when to drop and communicate better though and I believe will be a very good centre half.
Rob1742 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Wasn't good enough last season and was dreadful when he went on loan to Brentford. So dreadful he came back pretty sharpish. Just hope last season was a blip and that he realises that he has to learn, take his time and make steady progress. If he feels hard done too, then it may well be a problem. But if he realises he wasn't that good, he can learn from it
Guest Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 So FIF, why isn't Moore in the team, given that was the question? Safe to assume he isn't considered to be Premier League standard by the staff at the club, hence his loan spell and not featuring in our squad. So you are indirectly criticizing the coaching staff/NP? There's always one. What a surprise that you have singled my comment out and addressed me by name. You know what they say about assumptions don't you? Considering that Liam did play in the Prem last season I'd suggest that maybe being a very young player he wasn't the right fit for a team struggling at the bottom whose attack couldn't score, whose defence leaked like a seive ad whose midfield was too slow to help either the attack or the defence. Thankfully we got Robert Huth to lead the team to safety meaning that our England U21 defender has the possibility to return to the team a little older, wiser and more experienced. From your comment I guess that you have spoken with Pearson and the coaching staff and know that they have decided Young Liam is never going to be good enough for Leicester. Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see him excelling alongside Robert Huth at some time next season. Liam learned well alongside Wes as Wes has learned alongside Huth, with an ageing Was and Wes unlikely to get any better Liam could still be the future of our 3 CB line. Still you know better don't you?
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Just highlighting that the first bit of your comment highlights exactly why I called you out on your comment. You assumed this thread is about lambasting Moore with unnecessary criticism before it's really started and all the posts above yours are simply answering the question/badly worded/wrong first post. So it's fine for you to assume whatever you like but when someone else makes an assumption it's absurd? Makes sense. Never said he won't ever be good enough, just that he clearly isn't/wasn't last season. He was sent out on loan, I'm not assuming anything, I didn't assume Brentford stopped playing him and he was recalled as a result.
NewburyFox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Is he actually fast?! http://gfycat.com/FluidWelllitFox- this run would suggest he's got some pace. He's not good enough for the PL right now but he's still only 22 and undoubtedly has his best years ahead of him. Maybe he needs a move somewhere and first team football and has to sort out his attitude (assuming comments on this board are true, and I have no reason to doubt them given how bloody miserable he looked on the lap of honour) but he shouldn't be written off for a career in the top flight. He's still just a kid.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 He didn't really look comfortable and it costs us early in the season, Was, Wes and Huth are just better players at the moment ...
Ollie93 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 He didn't really look comfortable and it costs us early in the season, Was, Wes and Huth are just better players at the moment ... This. A lot on here are always trying to find specific reasons as to why certain players aren't picked or why some are favoured over others. The only reason is they aren't playing well enough at this moment in time.
Blue will Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 What is his attitude like?? Anyone know him or know someone who knows him??
AyewJoking Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 What is his attitude like?? Anyone know him or know someone who knows him?? my mates brother is best friends with Liams brother and he says..........................
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 When injuries start coming he will be in the side. When that time comes its up to him to put the performances in to ensure he stays in it.
TJB-fox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Wrong, you DO NOT NEED pace at the back. The pace obsession is frankly annoying now and im assuming fifa has caused it
