Why is Liam Moore out of favour

I also said it wasn't an unfair point to make, but the fact we had better doesn't necessarily mean he isn't good enough, just that he was 4th choice now we don't have Huth, he is third choice so that makes him good enough to start?

My post was also just an extrapolation of the opinions on him, starting with yours that was fair if a little harsh, going to him just being called shit and awful in every game he's played.

I see what you're saying. My points was that he isn't better than the 3 we had. Maybe should of worded it a bit better.

The reason he is out of favour, is that there were better players than he in the side. Who would NP have dropped in the final run in to have him in the side?

I would love him to learn from this season and realise that without a lot of hard work, he is going to blow his chance. It must have really stung, to find yourself within a space of a few months starting premiership matches to being sent back early from a loan at Brentford.

Is it a case, of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger? Maybe last season will be one those that either destroys or defines! (?)

But we don't play against him do we. When we played three at the back, how many times did pace catch us out. Yes it will happen from time to time, but it's not like it's a glaring problem.

Everytime Upson played. If we adopt similar tactics of sitting deep and counter attacking then pacey centre backs won't be required. They are only really necassary when playing a high line.

What I would like to see is first we sign Huth, then we continue with this formation, always been my favourite, but we rotate Moore and Was at RCB with the intention of Moore replacing Was next season, he is 35 and won't be around forever and it would be a shame to freeze Moore out when we potentially have a ready made replacement for when Was goes. It also allows for Moore to be match fit and ready should there be an injury/suspension to Huth or Morgan.

Moore will most likely replace some cb next year, he'll be moved up in the chain of demand assuming we don't resign Upson and with neither morgan, wasyl or potentially huth if we sign him being on the right side of 30, moore might be brought into the team more so he can become an addequet replacement for any of them. If someone gets injured I'd be more than happy with him coming in.

I personally dont think he's shite, he's not deserving of some of the criticism he's getting in this thread

I think he's really decent. Didn't do a lot wrong for me prior to being dropped. Can't complain about him not playing much because we looked far better with Huth in the side, then Wasilewski came in and as a back 3 they looked solid.

Moore shouldn't be written off yet.

Yeah, he's that shit he's a regular England U21 International. Get a fookin grip and give the kid a chance. He's one of our own remember

Considering the options the u21s have at the back, it's not much of a boast, although I won't take it away from him. Him being "one of our own" is irrelevant to how he copes on the field, he was a liability when he played and he probably could've done with another year in the championship

Heard from a Leeds supporter that they're looking to loan him next season, wasn't it Rosler who took him to Brentford too?  Could be legs in it, could be another case of someone looking to fill column inches somewhere.

If he's not good enough to start for Brentford why do people think he deserve a spot in our starting 11?

But isn't it the ex Brentford boss who's trying to sign him?

Moore wasn't playing at the back end of the season as we played 3 centre halves who were playing as a unit and playing better than him, that does not make him a bad player it is just he needs to take his chance when it comes, IMVHO i think Krameric is a very good player but he cannot get into the side. We still haven't signed Huth yet and with a good pre season Moore can get himself back into reckoning. Not sure about this attitude thing but he is still a very young man and has every chance to go on and forge a long career with us. Let us not forget the EPL ias an unforgiving league and as a defender you can be found out, as a youngster was told being a defender is harder than being a forward, a defender needs to be on top for 90 minutes a forward only needs 1 good minute.

One of our own means nothing and shouldn't get you any extra favours, it certainly doesn't put you ahead of other players who don't make the same glaring errors. It's great to have homegrown players but if he comes in he has to be better than what we've got not live off the fact he was born ten miles away. I'd rather have a 35 year old Pole, who's a rock with great positional sense than a homegrown lad who gets drawn to the ball and loses his man.

Just not up to it at this level, and I worry he never will be. The OP mentioned pace but not many teams play with pacey strikers running in behind at this level, which is why Vardy has had the success he has had because not many teams have a forward like that. So I would much rather have centre halves who are positionally solid (Which Moore certainly isn't) over a bit of extra legs.

Defenders particularly need to be solid every game, Moore was making too many mistakes too often and got dropped so he obviously is not good enough yet to play against players of Prem class.

A striker can get away with a few bad games but defenders don't have that luxury.

Posted

He got dropped because he wasn't playing very well

He didn't agree with the decision and threw a mard

You can imagine what NP thought of that

He then moped about and was stuffed out on loan where he faired no better

Since returning it has slowly dawned on him that unless he buckles down there is no way back with NP

A wasted talent if he isn't very careful but let's hope he has realised his mistake

Just think much was expected from him; being apparently highly-rated and being linked with Arsenal.

And perhaps slightly 'lost it' mentally, and this showed in a couple of games he's been in.

I wish more Leicester fans didnt write off people so quickly. The guy has showed some glimpses of being a very capable center half,  give him his loan. Let him prove he's up to it and give him another chance. We would be crazy to sell him now, he's not going to be worth that much and has plenty of potential.

Remember going in to this season half of our fans would have got rid of Schlupp if an offer had been on the table.

Thats a good point I couldn't understand why NP wat playing Schlupp at the beginning of the season and thought he was terrible, now its the end of the season i would say he is the most improved player by far, even rumours of Arsenal wanting his signature.

we'll he isn't exactly shit is he? He just isn't quite up to the standards yet

He's out of favour because his positioning was shocking and it was too big a step up, too quick for him. I'd prefer us to send him to a side that will be cannon fodder in the champ. He had it easy for us in the promotion season and he would learn a lot. He's got the potential to be a very good player for us for sure just hope we get to see it in the prem
