foxinsocks Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I just don't understand the cotteril thing... why does he think he is qualified to take to take us forward? Ditto lennon - however much affection and respect we have for his playing days sure he hasn't the record to expect to take the job. Not even considering Dycke... That leaves Hiddink - who would not be long term... or maybe Alladyce(who would be good for us at this stage) or must maybe Klopp. Tis doesn't look like a strong field - so may be there is some option that we have all missed? I am sure that once NP's pay off is bank he will be keen to leak his version of events - IMO if it was Bangkok related I expect he might have been unhappy that his lad was smeared with the racist brush... But I expect he might have though the performance at the end of last season put him in a stronger position that in reality. I am hoping this whole thing (the post pearson vacuum) has been managed so that the fans do not blame the owners new choice for the ousting of NP... i.e. hoping they went in to this with a great choice up their sleeve.
Alf Bentley Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 This week could be a major boost or a major decline in the spirit within the club. Jurgen Klopp or Neil Lennon.... The difference in class is horrific. Anyone other than an absolute legend like Klopp or the Hiddink/Cambiasso partnership would be a step backwards IMO. Will Cambiasso sign for another year? Will we get Kante? Will we put an improved bid in for Charlie Austin? Will we hear any statement from Nigel Pearson regarding what REALLY happened for him to be sacked? Offfft What a week this is going to be!!! I'm going to pretend that you did this thread as a multi-question poll: - Klopp or Lennon? Neither; Klopp will have better offers; Owners will want a "name" to promote their brand through instant success; they won't be seeking to please nostalgic fans (the only way in which Lennon stands out) - Hiddink? Quite possible; if not, I suspect we'll end up with someone of a similar ilk...but Cambiasso seems determined not to become a coach, not yet, at least - Cambiasso? I expect to hear that he's going elsewhere, unfortunately - Kante? Will end up at Marseille, surely? - I'd expect us to increase our bid for Austin, but if he has any sense he'll go to a more stable club (and he'll have other offers) - Unlikely we'll hear anything more from NP or the owners; not in either party's interests or nature to get into a public debate I hope that I'm wrong about at least half of that. What I'd LIKE to happen this week is: - We sign a couple of high-quality, highly-motivated, high-potential central midfielders (wouldn't need too many more players for a decent squad, then)...would love Cambiasso back, of course, but am not hopeful - We sign a high-potential manager who can work with and inspire most of this squad, and is intent on building gradually for the future, not going back to the drawing-board and trying to buy instant success - It's announced that Steve Walsh will be staying in his "Chief Scout" role - Some general idea of the reason for NP's dismissal; wouldn't expect a full explanation, just whether it was due to poor relationship/disagreements over disciplinary issues or differences over future strategy Re. NP's future: Others have mentioned the possibility that he'll end up managing Wednesday, but Middlesbrough by Xmas wouldn't surprise me, either. If Boro are doing well, I can see Karanka being in demand for autumn/winter vacancies at struggling Premier League clubs; if they're doing badly, he'd be under pressure after missing promotion last season. NP played for Boro, it's commuting distance from Sheffield & the sort of vacancy with potential that he could aspire to.
EnderbyFox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I was driving past Morrisons.. but not sure it clears anything up... Took a double take there, thought Cotteril was wearing Knee high boots
Alf Bentley Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I was driving past Morrisons.. but not sure it clears anything up... Took a double take there, thought Cotteril was wearing Knee high boots I thought the same....knee-high boots and shorts borrowed from ACDC's Angus Young. Well, if the owners want a higher-profile manager, appointing a transvestite rocker would be one way forward. However, if that's a taxi queue in the rain, there'll be a hell of a barney if a cab stops and all 3 of them start shouting it to the King Power stadium. Maybe they'll agree to share the cab?
Westerby Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I actually heard Simpson was to be manager of the new ladies team to ensure discipline within the squad.
Alf Bentley Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I actually heard Simpson was to be manager of the new ladies team to ensure discipline within the squad. About time someone took that lot by the scruff of the neck.
Dynamogoon Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I'm looking forward to more speculation, dodgy intel. and plain old clutching at straws. Add to that the in-fighting and díck swinging contests between the experts on here and it should be a week to remember. Just another week on Foxestalk then
Carlos88LCFC Posted 6 July 2015 Author Posted 6 July 2015 I personally think come the end of this week, we will have a manager, we will know the outcome of Cambiasso & we will offer 15m for Austin. Would like to think the Kante deal is wrapped up as well.
Nick Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Kante is surely going to Marseilles Austin won't sign for a managerless club when he has better offers on the table with Premiership stability I think the managerial position is currently an enigma for the Thais as they are waving the cash but can't quite lure a candidate of pedigree that they desire so we'll have to wait a week or so to see what they can negotiate. It will be that name which when appointed they'll need to get the transfer contacts in, because without offering silly money and wages players will go elsewhere.
Dan Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Klopp will become favourite. It wouldn't be Leicester if there wasn't some form of hope building to shoot it down. It's all we know.

AyewJoking Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 well its been fúckin boring so far, not a single report of Lennon in Morrisons car park.
Happy Fox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Someone said he is in London right now.... Whats he doing!? Watching Tennis at Wimbledon.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 6 July 2015 Author Posted 6 July 2015 well its been fúckin boring so far, not a single report of Lennon in Morrisons car park. I expected more by now! .. Watching Tennis at Wimbledon. Hopefully sat with Gary Linikear so he can put a word in for us! It makes sense that the face of MOTD has a great team!
AyewJoking Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 I think the Thais want Pearson back theyre just too scared to ask him.
Freesolo Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Manager will be announced today. Paul Lambert. I will shoot myself in the head if that happens and i don't want to do that
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 This would leave pretty much 100% of the LCFC fan base majorly disappointed. Anyone who isn't an improvement on Pearson, I'd be gutted... And an improvement on Pearson is hard to achieve... Absoultely not true. I'd be 200% disappointed with Cotteriill... absolutely not. However, Allardyce would be welcome tbh. Screw the beautiful football for time being, I just want to stay in the Prem! Plus he has more strings to his bow than hoofball
Guest LCFC_World Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Players going to a training camp in Austria next week so I expect the manager to be announced before then.
Guest MattP Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Klopp will carry watching the Tennis before being hit with an embarrassing question about the job and replying "what?" Kante will sign for Marseille. We'll have a bid accepting for Charlie Austin and he won't even bother considering the move. We'll start to wonder where time has gone and why we have have King and Hammond starting the season in centre midfield. A anagram of 'Sever Skin On Organs" will be sounded out for the job just before deadline day.

Screw the beautiful football for time being, I just want to stay in the Prem! Plus he has more strings to his bow than hoofball I think 'staying in the Premier League' was the target for season 1. The ambition of the owners is to challenge for European football. Allardyce will build a squad capable of finishing mid table every season, nothing more, nothing less. I'd be disappointed if that is what our owners are looking to achieve.
HitchinFox Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Don't think top even knows what's going on Quite. Does this look like a man who knows what the f**k is going on...?

Fox92 Posted 6 July 2015 Posted 6 July 2015 Literally depressing looking at the realistic options. Season starts in a month and two days ffs.
