Soar Fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Is it closer to London? Also south coast area is a lot nicer than the midlands... I doubt players are attracted to a specific area. How many players would have even heard of Leicester or Southampton.

st albans fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 That last sentence makes no sense... It raises our profile ... Has our profile not currently been raised by his appointment? It's not seeming to help us so why would it in the long run? That depends how much stuff was done prior to him coming. Players like mendy and kante have already been courted by 'bigger' clubs. However, You/I/we have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. had we opened up negotiations with kante with rainieri as our manager, his initial response could have been more positive. Of course, that's assuming we have actually targeted him. Guess events this week will tell us a fair bit.
pSinatra Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 These types of players may be waiting for Champions League clubs to come knocking, but as the transfer deadline approaches & the phone still hasn't rang......we may stand a better chance. Kramaric had the right attitude. He didn't want to play in the Chelsea reserves & preferred to move to a club rooted to the bottom of the league & looking fooked. He was putting himself in the shop window, if nothing else. Hopefully there will be players with a similar attitude out there?
Spudulike Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 So if we are to believe that Mendy has rejected the chance of joining us then it follows that City have approached his club and got some sort of transfer agreement in principle. Else it would've been an illegal approach ?? Don't know what the protocol is now... who makes the first contact ?? Buying club to selling club, buying club to player/agent or vice versa ?? You'd have thought that City would've got some sort of positive response, even unofficially, nudge nudge, before wasting time making a financial offer to Mendy's club... and if that was the case why the change of mind ?? Personal terms not agreeable ?? Who knows.
HankMarvin Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 How the fvck did Southampton manage to convince Dejan Lovren (Lyon), Dani Osvaldo (Roma), Victor Wanyama (Celtic) all to them in only their second season in the premiership. Whilst we struggle being able to attract mid table Ligue 1 players. By not spending 90 percent of the season bottom???
Soar Fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 By not spending 90 percent of the season bottom??? Still finished in the same position and the same number of points as them.
justfoxes Posted 30 July 2015 Posted 30 July 2015 Even this little shit doesn't want to join us from a French club who just make up the numbers. This is both worrying and frustrating. I'd rather the club keep trying though with players who will certainly improve us but are a bit out of reach rather than settling for a player than no one gets excited about. It's frustrating when we have the money and the wages to offer but still it's not enough. But is it him saying that or French version of our shitty gutter press garbage??
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 30 July 2015 Posted 30 July 2015 IF the Kante deal is done then I reckon this bid was to just force Kante into signing.
