LEICESTER A BIG PRICE TO GO 5 UNBEATEN

Another example of how the Tory policy of Care in the Community fails. :(

I'm happy with Ranieri thus far. To be fair, I had the impression that he would go in like Paolo Sousa and try to get us to play Italian/Spanish/Portuguese football straight away, ignoring everything that's happened in the past. He still might do that, but based on the players he's got at the moment he appears happy to keep our style together. The ideal move for Leicester to get a goal depends on four or five passes in the key areas, not seventeen in midfield trying to wear the opposition down.

I'm genuinely impressed that we've got a win at Upton Park. If he can go on from that and get us wins at Arsenal, Everton and Southampton too, I'll worship him.

:)

You already showed the forum you talk out your arris mate to be fair. But fair play for posting a complete 360 turn around after 2 games.

14/1 isn't bad but I don't think it'll come in to be honest. Can see Bournemouth turning us over.

Me too Charlie boy. I hate these small teams. When I say small, I don't mean to be insulting, but I guess you know what I mean.

I think you'll find that it's 180. Sorry to correct your maths!

14/1 is looking quite nice odds now. I still say i'd have wanted a bigger price than that at the start of the season though, it's easy to say it looks a good price in hindsight.

Anyway just been in Betfred and they were talking us up on their TV's.

They are offering;

5/2 on us finishing in the top 10.

100/1 for us to finish in the top 4.

Again I think i'd want a bigger price on us finishing in the top 10, it's not far away from tempting me but i'm a greedy fucker and 5/2 doesn't quite hit it. Top 4 well I just don't think it'll happen, I hope i'm wrong, I hope that comment bites me on the arse but it's not gonna happen is it?!

What could be tempting then is to back us on the handicap +42 points. That's 10/1 at Bet Victor.

Ranieri continues to roar

claudio-ranieri.jpg

Leicester City's stunning start under Claudio Ranieri continued on Saturday after they upset West Ham - who beat Arsenal on the opening weekend - 2-1 at Upton Park. The Italian now has maximum points from two games, with the Foxes up in 2nd, dizzying heights for the club.

The superb victories means the Midlands outfit will be overflowing with confidence ahead of Saturday's very winnable fixture at home to Tottenham. This is followed by a trio of matches against Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Stoke, meaning Ranieri's roarers have every chance of staying up in dream land.

ive got us to win the handicap @ 18/1 pre season i think. effort to work out how much of a chance we've got though cos we might be within 42 points of top but then someone below us might be within 50 points of it or someone just above us might be too far ahead etc etc.

think we've got a shout though if we finish anywhere about 14th.

I rate our chances of going 5 unbeaten quite high. Spurs, Bournemouth and Villa are all beatable. Great to win the first 2 games, invaluable points for us, because the great run we are on (including last season) will eventually come to an end.

I'm never really sure on handicap betting, is this as simple as us getting over 43 points? I can't see it being that simple, certainly not at the price of 10/1, that is a fantasic price, too good to be true if so.

Guessing this is more like the explanation? So no it's not as simple as I suggested and 10/1 is about the right price for what it intails I would say.

That's what worries me too including last year's run wouldn't surprise me if we were the form team out of all the major leagues. It's impossible to sustain as it's league winning form. Just hope when it does come to an end we bounce back quickly. Enjoying it while it lasts though :)

everyone in the league gets a handicap, usually based mostly on last year's standings/this year's actual league market. so chelsea would be your "scratch" (+0 handicap) and everyone below them gets a certain amount added on for their handicap to essentially make it a level playing field.

so our handicap this year was +42 points. so if we finish within 42 points of chelsea then we'll have beaten them on the handicap. but then someone (let's say stoke) will have a +30 point handicap, so we could comfortably beat chelsea, city, united etc in the handicap as they don't get many points handicapped, but there may be another surprise package further down the league who just nick it from us. so it's hard to follow through the season as you need to know every team's points + handicap all year long.

basically your winner is whoever "overperforms" most in the season. i think southampton won it last year as they were handicapped to finish bottom half but obviously finished top 7. the year before liverpool won it as they were handicapped with a 5th-7th place finish in mind and ended up missing out on the title by a point or something.

usually pre season every team is 18/1 on the handicaps and it can be a more interesting and better "value" bet than just, dunno, backing chelsea to win the league @ 5/4 or backing leicester to finish top 10 @ 5/2.
