sdb Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 People baffle me. Arsenal must have the most clowns as fans. That's painful.
ScouseFox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 i know it's still technically pre season but chelsea look like they need about another 2 months to get up to speed here, not 6 days. all of them look ridiculously sluggish. fabregas/hazard must've been mentioned about 3 times between them all game.
Jimothy Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 They look stale. They didn't need an overhaul after last season, but a few players to freshen things up wouldn't have hurt.
Jimothy Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 What's with the 6 subs rule? Bit odd Technically it's classed as a friendly.
FireFox Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Technically it's classed as a friendly. So technically, Arsenal still haven't beat Chelsea in a competitive game?
Jimothy Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 So technically, Arsenal still haven't beat Chelsea in a competitive game?I suppose not. It's a weird one because it's clearly competative and there's a trophy for it, but the FA also class it as s friendly and let extra subs on.Maybe it's because it's still preseason and they don't want the spectacle ruined by players who aren't fully up to speed fitness wise picking up injuries by staying on longer then they can.

The FA allow extra subs and they limit the game to 90 minutes, but they don't "class it as a friendly." Winning the Community Shield is considered an honour, albeit one with a lot less prestige than the league or cups. In the official Community Shield rules, nowhere does it say the match is a "friendly," but it does say that teams must field full-strength sides.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 G'wed Arsenal; Chelsea will still win the league mind.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Chelsea look impotent without Costa up front. He's injury prone, and I'm not sure whether Falcao'gonna be enough.
Stadt Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Chelsea look impotent without Costa up front. He's injury prone, and I'm not sure whether Falcao'gonna be enough. they will have to find a remydy
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Technically it's classed as a friendly. Tell that to Lord Benter who just won the German version

More likely its a showpiece and the FA want as much money as possible from sponsors etc so clubs can field their top names/new signings but dont have to wear the poor buggers out by making them play for an agonizing 90 minutes.
