BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The decision to put their brand on a pre-match flag is opportunism. I'm not debating the many other things they've done, just this decision. In my opinion corporate logos have no place on banners - they ought to be solely for the fans. How depressing. Fair point, let's go back to being mid table championship mediocrity. I'm sure Cambiasso would have turned up for that.
Weller in Tights Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Negativity or not, it's clear the club is out of touch with the fans for something like this to even cause a debate. It's not negativity for the sakes of it, it's clearly a view shared by a lot of fans. Sorry but why is it clear the club is out of touch with the fans. A scan of this debate does not show thousands up in arms protesting, maybe 10-20 saying that they don't like it, the same number saying that it doesn't matter. In what way is that sample representative of the Leicester City Fanbase? Unbelievable negativity. God knows what this forum will be like if results start going against us. Some of you would have a fight (sorry 'keyboard argument') with yourself if you didn't have Foxestalk. Get behind the team tomorrow whatever way you choose tomorrow, but just get behind the team and don't be a condescending prat if someone else gets behind the team in a different way to you. Come on City. Beat the Spurs Scum
BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Well kids are excellent at getting money out of their parents wallets, and I don't see many #Fearless Filberts around. If the idea is to sell it then we're doing a pretty crap job. If the point of it is simply to mean something we're still doing a crap job. Even if a #Fearless Filbert was delivered to 100,000 homes in Leicester by Santa this Christmas, would that be down to the slogan, the loveable character we've had since the 90s, or civic loyalty? Would it outsell a simple Home kit filbert which has the added bonus of visibility for our board's company? And the relevance of any of this is??
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 And the relevance of any of this is?? Based on your demographic. How do you know it's not catchy in the eyes of a 5 or 6 year old? Quite simply you don't...

Harry - LCFC Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Fair point, let's go back to being mid table championship mediocrity. I'm sure Cambiasso would have turned up for that. We'd still be in the Championship if we hadn't stuck the KP logo on as many surfaces as we could find? Rightio. Personally I think a good management team provides a better explanation for our recent promotion.

Personally I think a good management team provides a better explanation for our recent promotion. Again, look at the bigger picture, you may work it out then..
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 What does this banner with its naff hashtag achieve that a simple home shirt, as suggested, which prominently displays our club's "sister" brand would not? I'd rather the corporate side of the club kept out of fan culture altogether, but that's by the by. What does #fearless bring to us but something to make us a point of ridicule. Answer that, please.
GaelicFox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The decision to put their brand on a pre-match flag is opportunism. I'm not debating the many other things they've done, just this decision. In my opinion corporate logos have no place on banners - they ought to be solely for the fans. How depressing. what ??? Corporate logos have every right to be on a banner if the man paying for the banner wants it to be....if you want logo-less banners then buy one and wave it around Jesus cut the guys some slack , they are phenomenal owners , que EMINEM blaring in my ear !!! The Premier league is branded , the stadium is branded , they have to get some return on there mega investment and a few logos shouldn't bother anyone Its not like they have taken out or down a fans banner to make way for this banner .....the issue isn't the club , it's us Until the UnionFS boys and the clappers came along the atmosphere was like a Quakers funeral ! Liverpool last season at home was one of the worst atmospheres I ever experienced at football ... The lads in SK1 and the Club have made massive strides , it's not perfect but massive strides
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 As above, you haven't got a clue, its the first weekend!!! So we launched it before last season and you think it's being introduced this weekend. Great brand visibility. You can't answer a single one of the points I raised. Give up.

Weller in Tights Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The usual miseries are out in force, moaning about anything and everything. Some of you must live really miserable, negative lives. Fook sake. This

Ridicule by some brain dead morons who think it makes us look "tinpot" because we are "competing" with other fans. I couldn't careless what other clubs think of us, its of no importance. If some kid loves the phrase and proudly wears a LCFC t shirt with it on to a game, job done in my eyes.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Again, look at the bigger picture, you may work it out then.. Correctly attributing promotion to our management team doesn't mean I've failed to look at the bigger picture.

You can't answer a single one of the points I raised. Give up. The banner you plank.try again. Correctly attributing promotion to our management team doesn't mean I've failed to look at the bigger picture. And the management team was heavily backed by money and that is all that matters.

Your contradicting yourself ......it's exactly because we have FP plastered all over we are NOT in the championship It's easy to work out The management team put in place by the owner paid for by the owner ...the management team who bought players we had no money for paid for by the owner , who then supported that management team through tough times ....all done by the owner who happens to be MR KING POWER As I SUSPECTED the moaners are bitter Pearsonites

"It's opening weekend, how are those #fearless t-shirts doing?" "Excellent Susan. I mean, the social media side of things is showing that the majority of people who saw it on Match of the Day thinks it's "tin pot" and "laughable" and "embarrassing", but I'm sure our global followers aren't paying attention to that. Of the 10,000 actual shirts that we ordered, we sold one in a 5-6 size." "Wow, that's great news! Job well done everyone. Soon all people will be talking about is #fearless."

I didn't intend to bring Pearson up in this discussion but if Micky's going to credit our PL status to the owners I feel I have to explain to him who he really ought to be thanking.

A collective group is who we should be thanking. Would Milan have backed us as well as top and his old man? Do I need to explain this to you?
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 A collective group is who we should be thanking. Would Milan have backed us as well as top and his old man? Do I need to explain this to you? As I have pointed out in the post you responded to. FFP meant that the amount of money a club's owner has matters much less as there were limits on the amount that could be spent. I could throw your own comment back at you at this point but I won't.
BoneDog Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 It's Friday night lads come on. You should be at the cinema with a young lady watching Agent 47 whilst cupping a breast and slapping a beaver or something.
SemperEadem Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I really don't get this, why is it embarrassing? We have managed to create a good atmosphere with (and importantly) a family element. If we want this club to move forward and reach the heights we all dream off then a family atmosphere is key. T-shirts, clappers and giant flags with whatever corporate logo on it all helps that. Why is a family at atmosphere key?
srbfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 With the loyalty gone out of supporting your local club is it not important to get the fans in young and hope to build loyalty this way? Not 100% my view, just throwing it out there
