kingfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Think I'll wait till 3pm, don't want to be blinded by such bollocks.
SpacedX Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 It's not a flag, Jobber's donated his replica shirt.
Master Fox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Everyone in the Kop should hide out at the bar in the concourse until 2:59pm. Then rush to the terrace and trample the flag to the ground on your way to your seat.
EnglishOxide Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 People need to look up the definition of laughing stock, getting sick of everything that isn't done perfectly meaning we are a laughing stock, we aren't and you really don't have to look too far to find clubs that deserve that tag a lot more than we do. We are joint top of the league, we have just made some cracking signings, we have a great atmosphere which has been helped by the "cringey" clappers, the "cringey" drum, the "cringey" modern chants. Maybe if people stopped spending all their time cringing we might have had a better atmosphere years ago. We have a big flag, it will hopefully get people to their seats a bit earlier and get people creating more of an atmosphere. It may not be perfect, it may have a corporate logo on it, but the alternative is the empty stands until 2:59 and sitting in silence. Praise the club for trying something. Away fans might sing "what the fvcking hell was that" like we did at West Ham's streamers, but who really cares, I would be happy to see a similar streamer thing at the KP, it's what away fans do, take the piss. Captain, this is the kind of thing that puts us in the category of Reading, MK Dons, QPR and recently Newcastle. You don't see traditional clubs squeezing the shit out of good ideas to maximise brand exposure. Sheff Wednesday, Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool... 'Proper' football clubs... My problem is purely with the King Power logo getting on it. Its ****ing everywhere and it is overruling traditional LCFC imagery. As if the stadium name, decorations, people wearing the shirt in the stadium isn't enough, Premier League exposure around the world isn't enough.... Don't say we are top of the league and have made some good signings like it means anything at this early stage of the season. I do agree with the idea of getting people to their seats earlier to help with atmosphere but where as UFS motivations are for LCFC and the fans the clubs motivations are for King Power. I don't hate King Power, its part of growing our club and its the way of modern football, but its just incredibly well over the top at the minute.
Bamba's Babes Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 It's not the best flag but the sentiment is correct.
Foxes1 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Lets hijack the flag and take it Bournemouth it will probably cover the whole ground their not just one stand.
BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Some of our fans are an absoloute joke. The club are actually trying and still get knocked.
Leicesterpool Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Takes the affect away, when they do it every week. Problem last time was when they put that bigger banner behind the kop goal up, the people near the front couldn't see the players come out.
Voll Blau Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Some of our fans are an absoloute joke. The club are actually trying and still get knocked. It's not the trying people have an issue with, it's the end result.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Some of our fans are an absoloute joke. The club are actually trying and still get knocked. Yeah but what are they trying to do? Plug the King Power brand and twitterise the club by needlessly inserting hashtags and corporate slogans. This is something only the club could produce. No supporter would think to include those things in a banner designed to drum up an atmosphere.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 99% of fans in the kop won't give a shit what it says on it, as long as its blue it doesn't really matter.
BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 It's not the trying people have an issue with, it's the end result. Agreed but someone has thought it to be a good idea somewhere. We just have a habit of knocking stuff, its not what I want on a flag, but at least they are trying. It was the same with the clappers and let's be honest they were the catalyst for our current atmosphere.
BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Yeah but what are they trying to do? Plug the King Power brand and try to twitterise the club by needlessly inserting hashtags and corporate slogans. This is only something the club could produce. No supporter would think to include those things in a banner designed to drum up an atmosphere. Agreed, but why do you care so much about the advertising? It could say top loves forest ifnit helps with the match day atmosphere.
srbfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Lets hijack the flag and take it Bournemouth it will probably cover the whole ground their not just one stand. I'm in the kop for this one, I'll wear my trouser with the big pockets
norwichfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Good idea, but shouldn't the design come from the Heart and not an Accountant?, mind you it'll look great on a poor quality TV stream
whoareyaaa Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 As others have said its a great idea, but the design is terrible. Just a big badge with Leicester City FC or something underneath would have done the job and looked 10x better but at least they are moving in the right direction. I mean the hashtag wtf is that about.
SemperEadem Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 99% of fans in the kop won't give a shit what it says on it, as long as its blue it doesn't really matter. But it should matter. This is our club not a mouthpiece for a Thai cash and carry. We are Leicester City not a tin pot Watford or Reading, we are better than hashtags.
Wymsey Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 A 'hashtag' is designed for discussion (via Twitter), I think? When it's unveiled, the whole of England will tweet about it using the hashtag.
BrummieFOX Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 If the aim is (other than promoting King Power) to get us in our seats earlier then they could simply stop blasting out music at full volume right up until Kick Off, before playing Hey Jude. Turn off the music from 2:45pm and I'd get in my seat from then and soak up the atmosphere. Impossible these days.
sdb Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Agree that the idea is good and end result is quite cringeworthy. Hopefully not a way of phasing out the clappers because, like them or not, they actually add a lot to the atmosphere.
Max Power Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Some of the chat in here isn't very #fearless lads
BigMicky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 But it should matter. This is our club not a mouthpiece for a Thai cash and carry. We are Leicester City not a tin pot Watford or Reading, we are better than hashtags. How about you stump up a couple of hundred million, you can then put anything you want on your flag. #superfan
