Guest Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 If and when kramaric gets a chance he had to take it this year. We seem to have a lot of fans who live him based on what they read about him because he had done absolutely nothing at city to suggest he can make it in the big leagues. I actually think he's a bit of a risk in our squad as he may never come good. I'd gladly have Austin.
Grewks Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 If all 20 premier league managers were given the choice between kramaric and austin.....all 20 would choose austin. We haven't seen much of kramaric yet, but to suggest kramaric > Austin is just silly.
Lestoh Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Watch Kram tonight. This is the level he should naturally be progressing to after the Croatian league, which he tore up. Definitely on the scoresheet tonight. Maybe.
BlueTillIDie Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Stone Cold Steve Austin? I think Kramaric could hold his own
CORNFOX68 Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 I'm still to be convinced about Okazaki. Against Sunderland he was electric. Contested everything, stole possession on countless occasions, moved the ball around, had shots, asked questions, almost the full package. Against Spurs the game went over and around him. He looked about as threatening as a cardboard policeman. Yes, he too was a victim of our tactics cos he and Vardy would have got more backing from a sheet of brown paper. But there's the conundrum. Do we play the people we've got in a system that largely negates their talents - with Schlupp, Vardy, Okazaki and Drinkwater affected at the very least on Saturday. Or do we sign a proven scorer and use him, with others, to the best advantage and try to win matches by scoring goals rather than (theoretically) not conceding them? Whatever we choose I'd welcome a provenly reliable striker - because I'm sure we'll need one. Yes he didnt play so well against spurs but he played well at west ham
SecretPro Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Let's put in another bid for Austin and maybe .... Maybe .... Sell Kramaric to get a bit of the money back. Nows a good time to get him whilst we are flying high and are an inform team, the iron could not be hotter ! Would we have a future England forward line ?? And think of all the combinations with our other 2 strikers ... That would really make a statement ! FVCK OFF
SecretPro Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Hell no! am i the only person who really isn't bothered about Austin at all? I hate Austin. His face annoys me and I think he's vastly overated. Look at all the teams cueing up to sign him from QPR...oh
SecretPro Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Always said if we got rid of Nuge then we must get in another proven goalscorer .... Players who score goals are gold dust ! Yeah Nuge was a massive goalscorer last season.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Austin is stupidly overpriced at £15m. I honestly think Kramaric could make his pricetag look a bargain with a decent run of games.
Grewks Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Austin is stupidly overpriced at £15m. I honestly think Kramaric could make his pricetag look a bargain with a decent run of games. £15 mil for a guy who got 18 goals is not overpriced.
Countryfox Posted 26 August 2015 Author Posted 26 August 2015 See Kamaric wasn't overly impressive, missed a sitter and was subbed. The boy needs to go out on loan . We need a proven goalscorer .... Like Nugent. Anyway, Austin doesn't want to move to the Midlands .... But out of interest someone at LCFC liked him cus we put an offer in .... So we want him but it's all down to the price.
EnglishOxide Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 £15 mil for a guy who got 18 goals is not overpriced. Darren Bent got 18 goals once.
Merchant_Banker Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 See Kamaric wasn't overly impressive, missed a sitter and was subbed. He also scored a very decent goal, which was more than Ulloa achieved, but this was the first full game for either of them, so I think it is unfair to judge this quickly.
ImBlue Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Darren Bent got 18 goals once. And twice went for about £15m didn't he? Even back then, that's £25m of today's money. Not really a good comparison

Did you watch the game? Did you speak to Ranieri as to why he was subbed then? We need a proven goal scorer - well he scored a very good goal last night?! He's a striker he scored? He got 65 minutes. The guy can score goals he's proven that in his prolific form last season for his previous club and throughout his youth career. He just needs game time and for us to show him an ounce of the patience we have shown Vardy.
conLAD logan Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 And twice went for about £15m didn't he? Even back then, that's £25m of today's money. Not really a good comparison he scored 1 in 3 games at prem league level while also scoring more than 1 in two games at Sunderland, that is why he was worth the money.
EnglishOxide Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 And twice went for about £15m didn't he? Even back then, that's £25m of today's money. Not really a good comparison Fair enough I think its worth noting though that no top team wanted him though, despite his goals.
HighPeakFox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Someone somewhere needs to issue a 'come and get me' plea.
ImBlue Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Fair enough I think its worth noting though that no top team wanted him though, despite his goals. I think the knee thing is playing a huge part. A 26 year old is an investment for a club. If nobody wants him now after 18 goals in the prem and being 26 with an injury free few seasons, how hard will it be to move him on after a worse season or after a few injuries considering he's getting older? Lots of players have injuries and mixed fortunes, but this knee thing is playing a HUGE part, and without it teams would be falling over themselves to part with £15m

I'm sure he'll get his turn, its inevitable that vardy or okazaki will go out of form during one point of the season.

That's the second time you have used 'Nugent' and 'Proven Goalscorer' in the same sentence. His highest tally EVER in the Premier League is 6. get a grip.

He' scores, runs his socks off and works well with Vardy ... A good man to have on the bench. I don't have any problem with Kramaric and really hope he becomes another diamond but for now maybe he needs game time somewhere else .... What I do feel strongly about is that money should not within reason be the most important issue when buying or selling a player ..... 4 mill was good business for Nugent but would he still benefit our squad ... 15 mill might be overpriced for Austin but would we want him for say 12 ?? ... If they help us stay in the Prem then does that really matter .... The benefits for our club if we achieve that are 100 times more important financially and in status.

theessexfox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 It's a long season, different partnerships got runs in the side last year and I'm sure Kramaric's chance will come, I hope he shows how good he can be.
