What's a "spice smoker" by the way?

You never sampled the delights of crack cocaine and cumin?

Sounds so Waitrose, "darling, I purchased a bag of turmeric from Dave down the road, street value of 5 pounds".

Probably smearing their own shit on the wall as we speak.

This is Neville we're talking about, he wouldn't have let them in if they were Liverpool fans.

How annoyed will other property owners and businesses be in that area now? Talk about seeing your assets devalued.

No normal person is going to want to be near a crack den.

Yeah squatters are definitely going to clean up after themselves. They'll probably renovate the place knowing what squatters are like

You are right

“No-one can say we’re damaging the building” said Wesley founder of Manchester Angels, of their last building “We’ve got a rota, it’s running smoothly and everyone’s chipping in. I don’t judge anyone, but when they come in here they can see that we won’t take no nonsense, we don’t allow drugs in this building. Every Wednesday we have an art workshop, getting them team building, creative, motivated…because while they are outside and dealing with the elements their mind is numb and they’ve got that many problems. I believe that creativity in the form of art, photography, media and social media is the way to educate everyone.

“He knows we’ll look after the building and make proper use of it until the building work starts. This isn’t a long term thing, but we’ll have so much going on in here to help people.

The whole campaign is about breaking down the stigma attached to homelessness. We want everyone to come down, knock on the door and explain how they want to get involved – or we’ve got loads of ideas of how people can help.”

And by "art workshop" they mean "all sitting down passing round the bong"

lol

Neville should be ashamed really, he's rich so he can afford to lose the property.

The others in that area won't be so lucky, it's the business and property owners that should have our thoughts and sympathies today.

What's the odds a "accidental" fire sweeps the place before Christmas?

I assume you are all just winding me up. I do not believe you are as heartless as you appear.

Not a great attempt at humour and mocking but hey this would not be FoxesTalk without it.

As a teacher would say you must try harder.

Off out, catch you guys later.

Good point about neighbours. Imagine leaving your workplace and having to make your way through a street gathering of urine soaked tramps every single day.

And who is responsible for that?

I wait with baited breath for some more compassionate responses.

Who is responsible for it? Not the people who have to put up with the stink, that's for sure. Anyone walking by there in a suit will more than likely get abuse for having a job. Who is responsible for that? If these people put half the effort they put into squatting and being rebels without a cause then they could all have good jobs and not need to covered head to toe in urine every day.

I can't believe how naive you are Ken. These are squatters, it doesn't matter how much a charitable representative tells us they are going to clean up after themselves and do art classes - squatters are known for being 99% dropouts usually of their own doing, they seem to feel like laws don't apply to them (hence the ongoing trespass) and often resort to drug use and destruction of property through sheer boredom or jealousy. Like when you drive a hire car - it's not yours, you don't know the legal owner so you treat it like utter shit for the time you've got your hands on it. Bit of fun.

Like others have pointed out, the situation is funny because we all know this won't go according to plan, but local residents and businesses will be furious with all the scum inhabiting the place. My old band used to practice at Stayfree when it was near the train station, then that Dawn Centre or whatever it was called opened up a few doors down and almost every week there'd be some festering bag of skin infections hurling or pissing in the doorway of the studio. Stayfree had to move to Frog Island because the problem was so bad, and as far as I'm aware the business is much worse off as a result. Similar situation here.

I would love to see some before and after photos of this squat. And not selective ones of the one corner of the building they haven't defecated

Agree, it really is a shame to see behaviour like this rewarded.

It will only encourage more homeless criminals to break in and occupy properties they have no right to be in.

Only because you've pissed on them.

I've never intentionally pissed on anyone.

If people are going to sleep in secluded doorways in town at Christmas then it's hardly surprising they'll spend the next day covered in urine.

It's like wandering down the motorway and then moaning because you get hit by a car.

Their rags are so absorbent though

Suppose that stops it splashing back onto your shoe, that's a bonus.
