MooseBreath Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 How many times have we heard him say he's got a "plan"!? This time a "plan" for the steel industry. It's just another industry we'll end up losing. Would you rather politicians didn't have plans?

Claridge Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 It's the new politics. A combination of manifest incompetence, managerial inadequacy, ineffectual bullying, spin and lies, just with people of a far left persuasion doing it instead of centre left. More impressively as well. With the sad news of Michael Meacher's death, we shall find out how labour supporters feel about Corbyn in the very safe Oldham by-election, where UKIP came second in the last election. Surely a new leader will massively increase the vote?
Fox92 Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Would you rather politicians didn't have plans? I'd rather them stick to these plans.
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 "You realise you are not Sherlock Holmes Mr Watson" Clever stuff from Vaz.
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Need to find this Mirror article he wrote about Brittan, hearing all this it's so clear that at least in public his aims were politically motivated. He's going very red and sweaty.
Darkon84 Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Need to find this Mirror article he wrote about Brittan, hearing all this it's so clear that at least in public his aims were politically motivated. He's going very red and sweaty. Just been watching that myself and as you mentioned earlier, for all his slime and sleaze, Vaz is handling this very well. In fact the vast majority of questions from the panel have been spot on. Watson is looking incredibly awkward now and it's certainly looking more and more politically motivated, following some of the questions regarding why only certain allegations were made public. An apology to the Britton family too.
Guest MattP Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 I don't get why he made such a fuss about not apologising in the HoC but then does when first asked today?
Darkon84 Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 I don't get why he made such a fuss about not apologising in the HoC but then does when first asked today? I guess it's a bit different acting up in front of your mates, as opposed to sitting in front of an investigatory panel.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 he really should have defused this early on
ousefox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 It's devastating that Alan Johnson was never labour leader
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 It's absolutely unbelievable when you think about it. Gordon Brown, Ed Miliband and Jeremy Corbyn while someone like AJ is outcast.
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Some very soothing news for the Tories last night, only a small sample obviously but right in the middle of a "swing seat" and huge drop in support for Labour with a big swing to the Tories. Corbyn is poison outside the heartlands.
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Liz Kendall was on This Week last night, she looked lovely as well. Worth a watch. Leicester West should be proud to have her.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Liz Kendall was on This Week last night, she looked lovely as well. Worth a watch. Leicester West should be proud to have her. Well I've tried
Alf Bentley Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 It's absolutely unbelievable when you think about it. Gordon Brown, Ed Miliband and Jeremy Corbyn while someone like AJ is outcast. I agree that he'd have been a better leader than all 3 of them. But he was hardly an outcast, he chose not to stand. I think that's a massive shame for the Labour Party and for the country, but who knows his precise reasons. His comments suggested that he felt he might not be up to the job - in which case, I disagree. Maybe, though, he just wanted to protect his family life. I was aware of his previous marital problems, but just seen on Wiki that they divorced last year and have a teenage son...
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 I thought he actually stood in 2010, apologies. If that's the case then you can't knock him, he would have been an election winning leader though, I'm almost sure of that.
Alf Bentley Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Liz Kendall was on This Week last night, she looked lovely as well. Worth a watch. Leicester West should be proud to have her. Guilty cross-party/class crushes, eh? I'd like 3 counts of Baroness Warsi, Kirstie Allsopp and Helena Bonham-Carter to be taken into account when I'm sentenced. In mitigation, I'd claim that I clearly just have a thing about feisty curvaceous brunettes. (Just Googled Kirstie to check name spelling and almost had a coronary when it came up with "Kirstie Allsopp Bedding"....cheeky Madam!)
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Terrible aren't they, Caroline Flint is another guilty pleasure, although I'm not as bad as a friend in London who went through a phase once of only fancying chubby Liberal Democrats. You missed Nigella Lawson if that's what you are after!

You missed Nigella Lawson if that's what you are after! Yes, Nigella is very appealing, too. She's almost become too camp/slapstick now, though, with all her double-entendres. Chubby Liberal Democrats? Sarah Teather? Charles Kennedy?! Just keep remembering my little (true) story about young Caroline to keep you warm at nights, Matt!

Personally, she's become a parody of herself now and it's really put me off. Damn you Nigella!
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Haha Alf you got it in one, he was obsessed with Sarah Theather Nothing wrong with a bit of Nigella either even now.
MooseBreath Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Good to see UK Government commit £9m to help those affected by the steel industry decline. That's empathy and compassion right there.
