A thrashing....

...and yet I don't feel concerned. We've been beaten soundly, in my opinion perhaps flatteringly, but I don't feel like this is the start of a slip. I feel like this is just a result that we'll get over. These are good omens.

Norwich will require a completely different type of mettle and drive. This was always going to be a tough game to win, and in all honesty is probably a true reflection of ability. Arsenal always underperform and we have the tendency to do otherwise.

As Mourinho would say it was a fake result.

2 of the goals weren't goals and 2-5 flatters Arsenal, they were good, they deserved to win but 2-5? Nah, not having it.

I felt like the second half goals were partly down to poor keeping, what happened with their third, it looked to be down Kasper's throat then suddenly it was in

Other threads are already constructively discussing the days events.

This thread title is far too negative and unnecessary.

We had a good go and were beaten by 3 goals not 5 by a very good team, so the title "A thrashing" is a little too aggressive imo, or did you want a "shock and awe" over reaction.

Alexis Sanchez is one of the world's best players and Arsenal are a champions league potential team. Not time to panic. Glad we had a crack at it and very much doubt CR or the team will be too bothered

We could have been 3-0 up and drew 5-5

Shocking defending but at times we matched them

We still have a lot of work to do To improve the back

Kante and Vardy could have easily played for arsenal today

But that's about it , so in that regards wasn't really a thrashing .....JUST A LESSON

Man city lost 4-1 .. we went for it..possibly wrongly ..but learned a lesson.. that's football...

Man city were thrashed.

Chelsea couldn't even beat Newcastle what's that called?

I agree. Doesn't stop me feeling p*ssed off though.

I'm still banging on about the foul on okazaki before their goal. Yes I'm clutching at straws.

I don't want people to feel I'm being negative. Just realistic. We were crowing a year back how we'd thrashed United, rightly so. We can say we've been thrashed today, rightly so. The point of the post is to highlight that I don't feel worried, whereas in seasons past this could've been construed as a major set back. I feel that this, given our team, will be taken in the right manner and we'll build on it.

Yes, I suppose we were thrashed. We also showed more ambition and threat than in many 0-1, 0-2 defeats last season so it's not just the final score that reflects the performance.

Conceding 5 at home of course is a thrashing. That's 5

Worrying how many goals we concede and it needs sorting.

It's time to go to three at the back. Would like Benny there probably to add some composure and speed to Huth and Wes.

I'd take that and giving it a go rather than limping to a pathetic loss like we did much of last season.

You realise there's a middle ground right?

Disappointing result but no need to panic. Still relatively early in the season, we need to tighten up at the back for sure, but we have a lot of attacking threat and I think we will not go on a shocking run like last season. Time to drop Shinji and start either Ulloa or Kramaric.

Some people don't mate. They DO think it's all or nothing.

Anyone who wanted to see, knew that we looked like a side capable of conceding at will. As well as scoring at will. We must tighten the defensive side of the team up. We are wide open.
