brisfox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I'm at Carrow Road and have been told that we cannot display flags due to , and I quote" problems in case the flags catch fire" same thing happened at Stoke a couple of weeks ago. The conversation went as follows " Sorry Sir, you cant bring that flag into the ground in case it catches fire" I replied " Exactly how many flags have caught fire at Norwich this year?" "None" came the reply." Sorry Sir , it doesn't have a fire safety certificate " I asked the steward if any of his clothes had fire safety certificates. He said "No". "In that case, please remove all you clothes immediately in case they spontaneously combust" I hate dealing with idiots
The whole world smiles Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Not his fault he will have some bellend in his ear peice, he sounded polite enough.
brisfox Posted 3 October 2015 Author Posted 3 October 2015 What annoys me most is that clubs treat fans like they are morons, even so they are quick enough to charge £45 for a ticket.

We all know that flags need fire certificates so why the surprise?
brisfox Posted 3 October 2015 Author Posted 3 October 2015 Exactly how many flags have you seen catch fire lately?
ElusiveEd Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 "Sorry Sir, you can't bring that flag into the ground in case it catches fire" "Exactly how many flags have caught fire at Norwich this year?" "None" That's because no one can take flags into the ground.
Carl the Llama Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Don't flags come with the fire safety certificate included? Just hold onto it to take to games with you and make the lives of the stewards who get no say in stadium policy a little easier, surely?
Stadt Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I can't help but think Norwich are trying to prevent any of the FSF flags/banners being shown. Cvnts.
AndWhat? Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Quite obvious that the whole fire safety certificate bullshit is more to do with trying to squash fan culture than to actually keep us safe. As you say, how the **** are flags more likely to catch fire over clothes? It's a good job the FSF's 20's Plenty flag has a fire certificate.
davieG Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I thought everyone knew about the need for a fire safety cert. for flags it's certainly been discussed on the forum enough. It matter not whether it is bullshit take your certificate with you and they won't have that reason to stop you.
brisfox Posted 3 October 2015 Author Posted 3 October 2015 Funnily enough, Norwich have just brought out 4 big flags to wave at the side of the pitch. I went up to the steward who previously stopped me and pointed out that they didn't appear to have a safety certificate. He didn't appreciate the irony.

Probably because it's only irony if you have a legitimate point and you're not just trying to win points over some poor lad who can't help that you didn't bring the certificate to the match with you.

Farce.
steveherbe Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Take your certificate, it aint difficult. We went to Saints U18 cup game last season, got asked for certifucate, produced it, had it checked, and were escorted to an area where we could hang it, no problem. Mind you, you were at Narich, carrot munching tw@ts.
Vlad the Fox Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 Exactly how many flags have you seen catch fire lately? I've seen quite a few flags on fire, just depends on how far East your going.
