Movember

Hi guys. I am raising money this year as part of movember. I will be growing facial hair over the month as well as taking part in Movember Move. This is where I will be doing sit ups, press ups, and squat thrust sets twice daily.

I have chosen to do it this year because we have lost a wonderful family member to cancer. He was so strong and stayed fit, active and well into his 90s. In dedication of such a great man I am raising money for cancer research as part of movember.

My link is below if you feel you could donate to a great cause.

Thanks guys.

To be honest I do have facial hair most of the year round. Hence why I have taken on the MOVE challenge to go with it. It steps up to twice daily sets of 30 then if you can handle it 40 press ups, sit ups, squats by the end of the month. That's pretty tough.

I have to say though last time I let it grow without trimming it after a month it looked like I was tramp who hadn't had a bath for weeks haha.

Thanks for the support guys.

Hahaha that's my all year round look! Homeless Ginola!

Love Movember - I just let it get out of hand and had Mo2015 instead.

Tell me about it lol

i just about reached my target of £100 but even best mates would say they'd give a fiver but mysteriously never appeared...

Thanks to those who have donated already :)

And thanks to mods for pinning the topic for me. Just done my practice MOVE set. I have a feeling 40 of each is going to nearly kill me haha.

I've had a £50 donation from someone off here who I've never met yet three of my best mates haven't donated yet. Apparently they're waiting to see if the parachute opens lol lol

Did my MOVE set this morning. Going to do 20 tomorrow as 10 didn't seem enough of a challenge. If anyone else would like to donate to a great cause I would be thrilled :)

Thanks for the bump Davie. Did me two sets yesterday. Have cranked up to 20 of each today and I must say I am hurting a little. I'm such a wimp haha.

It's been going about 7 years, now, eh?

I did it the first 4 or 5 years, and, having taken a couple of years off, I'm doing it again this year.

Partly because I was pressured into it by work colleagues who are doing it for the first time, and I am in their team on the fund raising website.

Partly because, of course, male health issues need the spotlight shone on them and money raised for them.

Mostly because I think I look like a fvcking boss with a moustache. A sort of tubby Des Lynam, strutting around Glasgow, proudly stroking my magnificent lip fluff, with my other hand on my hip, as I stare meaningfully into the middle distance.

Sadly, I don't wear a mo' all year round because Mrs Vac thinks that the last reason is true only in my head, and that actually a moustache makes me look several years older, a bit trampy and more like a poster boy for the Sex Offenders Register. She may be right.

Day 3 and the lip is beginning to look a bit shady...

Hey everyone. Just giving this a quick update. I am now on MOVE sets of 20 morning and evening. So 20 press ups, 20 sit ups and 20 squats every morning as soon as I get up and then again in the evening. As well as growing my facial hair.

Please donate if you can, it is for a great cause and would raise money for men's health and cancer research which is really close to my heart after a recent loss of a family member. Much love guys and gals.
