I've got my first single coming out this week. 

 

I've been making music on and off for 15+ years, with the last five years dedicated to really learning as much as I can, and putting it into practice with this particular project. 

 

Not going to post anything here as I enjoy the anonymity, nor do I expect anyone to actually listen to it as I'm totally out of touch with the social media marketing grind, but it does feel nice to actually put something out into the ether for the first time. 

 

Anyone had any success themselves?

I had an album released (written by me but not performed by me), and hopefully have a christmas album coming out, but like you i enjoy anonymity of it, just did it because i wanted to see if i could.

Alright, so I've been beavering away at this thankless nonsense since June on and off and it's starting to get better. 

 

I can't believe just how much work it is though. The website, managing the platforms, dealing with the releases, artwork, SOCIAL MEDIA. I've been off socials for years personally so I've basically been learning again and nobody told me that being a musician in 2025 also means being a ****ing content creator n'all. 

 

All of it means I've barely had any time to actually make music. 

 

Anyway, 3rd single coming out and I've had some OK success - few hundred followers on socials, each of my tracks has thousands of streams so far. All organic growth, and dare I say it I've made a handful of actual fans. 

 

Then I log on to see some blatant "AI creator" in the same genre using Suno AI going viral, reaching tens of thousands of streams and followers in a matter of weeks and it makes me wonder why we bother. lol

 

Ah well:

This is 💯 my own experience, writing /  recording/ mixing / mastering/ artwork/ platforms / video creation ...etc. for absolutely no reward other than artistic expression 😂😂😂😂......😭

Another remix I've done. Struggling getting it up on YouTube due to copyright but it seems to be visible ATM while the copyright claim is under dispute.

Yesterday, a decent-sized US-based band reached out to ask me to do a remix of one of their songs. I'm being offered a decent rate for the job so hopefully I can get it over the line with their label. 

 

Since nobody really knows I make music, I just wanted to share the news. Absolutely buzzing TBH.
