Fox92 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Of course he hasn't he's one of the biggest trolls on the forum. Thought so. I'd like to know how many of these people defending Sky have paid for tickets, trains and hotels for Arsenal like some of us have.
Vestan Pance Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Best thing that ever happened to British football We can sit safely with our children We can watch great sport production at weekend We see world class players paid for by sky money The stadiums have improved because of sky money Honestly is not a perfect relationship but like with your wife you have to take the rough with the smooth Whinging and moaning is a serious speciality in Leicestershire If you don't like it get a season ticket of oadby town ! You do understand the role Sky allegedly played in the downfall of ITV digital? The downfall that was a factor in several clubs including Leicester going into administration.

Captain... Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 That's a fair point to be honest. Sky have been brilliant for virtually every other sport going but they really have fcuked football over, the desire the World over to see Premier League football has led to such riches that any sort of care and consideration for our own fans is now at the bottom of the pile, deep down of course they also know that they can do whatever they want as whatever they do, it's about pleasing TV viewers across the World as much as anything, they know British fans will still be paying out and coming to matches because at the end of the day we are addicts and slaves to our teams. This is more about courtesy than anything though, the notice is just far too short, Barney Francis is a football fan himself and he would know that fans would have already booked train tickets and accommodation for this match. The only way to have a chance of stopping these things is complete boycotts as they did in Germany, no one in the organisation of Sky or the Premier League will bat an eyelid at a few banners, chants or missing 5 minutes. 99% of viewers would just assume it was our fans arriving late anyway at that time on a Sunday. But is it sky that has fvcked over football or is it this archaic and largely redundant rule on broadcasting matches at 3pm on a Saturday.Scrap that and let Sky or BT or someone else broadcast a 3pm game then it doesn't matter which game is shown and how late they decide to show it the only issue is moving around games because of this rule that doesn't make any sense when anyone with the Internet can watch any game anywhere live. You can't blame sky for wanting to provide the best service possible to it's customers by showing a top of the table clash, but the only way is to move the game. The reason why it has been great for other sports is that they just fit round their schedule, cricket, boxing, F1 dictates the schedule Sky Broadcast it, but they can't with football.

If they could show 3pm games they'd still want to show other games at different times I don't think it would make that much of a difference. They should let as many companies who want to access to all the games then you'd have really competition for customers to choose from it wont solve the moving of games but it would be better for home viewers.
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 You paid to go to Arsenal by any chance? Yes but I drive , I also said on a timer thread it was fairly obvious This would be moved Club should refund train tickets You also have to watch a hell of a lot of Newcastle, thanks to Sky. They are usually playing another team who can score a few by them

They could still show other games at other times, but if they know they can show one of the 3pm games they can release the TV games sooner, change the fixture list earlier give everyone a bit more time to sort out travel plans, safe in the knowledge that if a 3pm game looks like a cracker then they can also broadcast that one without changing the time or date of the fixture. It could also mean one of the TV games would not have to move for the TV. As for competition, BT and SKY should have equal access to broadcast all the premier league games, then we have true competition over which provider offers you better service.
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 You do understand the role Sky allegedly played in the downfall of ITV digital? The downfall that was a factor in several clubs including Leicester going into administration. Propaganda , we were one of the clubs that were badly managed and run at the time ! It was only time that all happened ! Now we are excellently managed and run ! Business is business !
yorkie1999 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I think the next thing sky will bring in will be to pay a fee to watch your club live at 3pm.
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Of course he hasn't he's one of the biggest trolls on the forum. No I'm not ! I have hundreds and hundreds of posts and hundreds of positives for my postings It appears if you disagree with guys sat at home on the dole all day watching Netflix your some sort of troll Sky money like it or love it made the product that we call the premier league It created the opportunity for us to become a serious contender ! Thank god for sky !
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I think the next thing sky will bring in will be to pay a fee to watch your club live at 3pm. It's already in the planning, Next year they are looking to trial it for viewers in the Republic of Ireland ! Why not ? I think it's a great idea
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Sky (and BT) pay a fortune for the TV Premier League rights - if they want to move a game they're going to, irrespective of the fact it is three weeks before the game and supports will lose money on train tickets etc. Sky are the reason there is so much money in the league, would foreign owners invest so much if there wasn't all this money? Think the current squad would be at City if they weren't being paid decent wages? No chance. Careful some of the brain deads will be calling you a troll Well said
Captain... Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 It's already in the planning, Next year they are looking to trial it for viewers in the Republic of Ireland ! Why not ? I think it's a great idea The only obstacle is an archaic law/regulation preventing any live football being broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday, they are trialling it in ROI because it is a different country.
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Greed... that's what it all comes down to. The inevitable headline in years to come will be about showing every Premier League game, and the monthly subscription being astronomical. The premier league is all about greed The ability to crack technology means there will always be a way to avoid paying I watch every game in HD and never pay sky or BT ! The only obstacle is an archaic law/regulation preventing any live football being broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday, they are trialling it in ROI because it is a different country. Correct ! The 3pm by-law is going to be challenged
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Thought so. I'd like to know how many of these people defending Sky have paid for tickets, trains and hotels for Arsenal like some of us have. I drive to games The club Should compensate people This is not sky's fault ! The club gets a big fat bonus for being in TV ! It's the club people should be pissed with !
thybluefox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Sky will do what is best for their paying customers - the TV viewer. The Premier League will do what is best for their best paying customers - BT & Sky. The Clubs will do (and to be fair, have to do) what is best for their best paying customers - the Premier League. For Sky to change, their must be pressure from the Premier League to renegotiate the terms by which games are selected and scheduled to be on TV. For The Premier League to apply pressure to Sky (& BT) there must be pressure from the clubs who sit on the board. that pressure would have to be from more than just 1 club, so it's going to take an astronomical shift of opinion amongst clubs before anything changes. Granted, restricting the amount of time there must be between rescheduling and the original date of the fixture seems like only a small change, but I imagine its a big part of why Sky pay so much.

It's the club people should be pissed with ! Wtf man this gets worse. Sky moved a game that is in three weeks.... If the club refuse they can be docked three points...
Out Foxed Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I drive to games The club Should compensate people This is not sky's fault ! The club gets a big fat bonus for being in TV ! It's the club people should be pissed with ! they used to do it in the champ and we got paid less than £100k for that. thursday away at derby anyone? **** sky
Captain... Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Wtf man this gets worse. Sky moved a game that is in three weeks.... If the club refuse they can be docked three points... That's crazy if true, does the club have any say in it? Or the Premier League? I still can't get too mad at Sky the PL agreed to all these terms allowing this to happen.

That's how much power Sky/the Premier League have on football now. It's ridiculous.

It amazes me that for things like racism the punishment is just monetary fines, but for refusing to move a game so it can be on TV they'll dock you points.
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Oh right, did the club suggest moving the fixture then? Not Sky? Didn't realise that. Thai can happen to any game ! The club I think get 125k for being live That money should be used to compensate the clubs supporters out of pocket !
GaelicFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Wtf man this gets worse. Sky moved a game that is in three weeks.... If the club refuse they can be docked three points... The club would never refuse ! They get a huge wedge for a TV game ! Oh right, did the club suggest moving the fixture then? Not Sky? Didn't realise that. Who knows how these things happen
