Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 I'm going to be mucking about up North for a few weeks and figured I'd kill some time doing a mini Vardy Story Tour thing. Anybody know what factory it was that he worked at making splints? In Halifax wasn't it?

Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 That's creepy they've probably got 20+ japanese tourist out front every morning. Sporting 2 cameras and morrissey shirts. Reckon they've even got a gift shop by now selling souvenir Vardy Splints and doing daily tours.

Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 Maybe not Japanese.. Haha, good point boycott perhaps. Serious travel tip though, any place worth going will have japanese tourist. No japanese=don't bother.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 If you're going up north to see a factory you've got too much time on your hands.
Charl91 Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 Sounds like a good idea. I hope you visit other famous landmarks too, such as the hospital where he was born, the school he used to go to, the corner shop where he used to buy his bread, and the nightclub where he used to bang the other guys who chatted shit.

Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 well i'm not going to be making a special trip for it, but if i'm passing within 200 yards of it why not.
Izzy Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 well i'm not going to be making a special trip for it, but if i'm passing within 200 yards of it why not. I sometimes pass within 200 yards of Leicester market and often nip in because Gary Lineker used to work there...
Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 I sometimes pass within 200 yards of Leicester market and often nip in because Gary Lineker used to work there... i can't tell if you're being sarcastic but it sounds legit to me.
Blanesta Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 There's a bench near that factory he worked at, hopefully it's still there, he munched a sandwich on it once.

Whenever I buy my fruit and veg there I get all nostalgic just knowing I'm stood on the same bit of concrete as the Leicester legend..
Samilktray Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 What exactly are you going to do when you get to this factory? Literally the weirdest thread ever

ian1984summer Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 I suggest a psychiatric hospital would be a better destination than Vardy's factory.
Guest Posted 25 March 2016 Posted 25 March 2016 good grief charlie brown. for once in 15 years i'm going to be randomly mucking around up north, mainly in vard's old neck of the woods, and was just curious if my path would be crossing any points of interest. Hardly doing a bleedin pilgrimage. It aint like i'm planning to drop serious cash to watch our reserves have a kickabout with some hairdressers
sylofox Posted 26 March 2016 Posted 26 March 2016 I would say the OP needs to get out more. But in his case I am not sure that would be the right thing to do lol

Rincewind Posted 26 March 2016 Posted 26 March 2016 I had a holiday in a place (Yorkshire again) that had a pub with the same name as one in a Discworld book. But in my defense I am a Terry pratchett fan and the pub serves real ale so I got something out of it.
