FantasticMrFuchs Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 Entertainer Ronnie Corbett, best known for BBC comedy sketch show The Two Ronnies, has died aged 85. His publicist said: "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family. "They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time." Corbett was one of the UK's best-loved comedians and along with Ronnie Barker, their double act was one of the most successful of the 1970s and '80s. The entertainer had been suffering from ill-health for some time. He was in hospital in 2014 with gall bladder problems and previously collapsed at dinner in his honour in 2012. Following Barker's death in 1985, Corbett continued to be regular fixture on UK TV and is perhaps best-known for his armchair "shaggy dog" sketches. His most memorable solo projects include the sitcom Sorry! and the game show Small Talk. He most recently starred in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom When the Dog Dies. Corbett is survived by his wife, Anne Hart, with whom he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary last year, and the couple's two daughters, actresses Emma and Sophie Corbett.
TiffToff88 Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! without doubt the Two Ronnies were the greatest comedy duo this country has ever produced. I absolutely loved the Mastermind sketch, his comic timing was always perfect. What a legend he was. i'm not a religious man, and don't believe in an afterlife in any way, but i would like to think that wherever he is now, he has been reunited with Ronnie Barker. RIP

AKCJ Posted 31 March 2016 Posted 31 March 2016 I loved the crossed lines and the "your nuts mi lord" sketches. Ageless comedy is something that is so difficult to achieve. But anybody can watch a Two Ronnies sketch and laugh no matter their age and no matter how many times they have seen it before.
