stulcfc Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Hey little toe love ur new tattoo on ur neck much have stung xxx
Elsie Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 I grew up approx 800 metres (direct line - had to walk down the canal path!) from Filbert St. On Saturday afternoons you could hear the crowd. First game was vs Liverpool in '77 and we lost 0-4. I've watched City in every competition home and away. Hereford away FA cup game when Soccer Special train broke down on way back. Swansea away at night in the rain. Mark Venus screamer for 3-3 home draw against Swindon? In '97 we moved to York with work and with 3 kids, going to football wasn't easy. I tried to get a ticket for a game at the Riverside but the ticket office lady laughed 'You can't buy a ticket, we're sold out!' - always makes me smile when I see their ground of empty seat's on TV. In 2001 we moved to North Derbyshire and I work in Notts. I got to see more games, even having a season ticket for a couple but the cost of travel got too much. Whilst living here I've been to loads of away games in the Midlands and South Yorkshire areas, that Barnsley game where we won 1-0 to stay up was an amazing atmosphere. I was at Bolton the night of the Lloyd Dyer smash and cried as we won. This season? I've only been able to see a couple of games as I can't get a ticket. I had to sit with home fans at Sunderland but stayed for the after game celebration singing. I wear my shirt(s) with pride in Derbyshire and Notts and a few weeks ago in Mansfield someone called me a band waggon jumper. What. The. Fluff?! I am a little aggrieved that now success is here I can't get to be a part of it. Maybe that is because people who weren't there when we were crap have jumped in ... but that's life! If you are ... Paying to watch Leicester City Buying the shirt Standing to applaud them onto the field Singing and cheering the team on ... no matter what league / position we're in then you're NOT a 'plastic'. Now to sweet talk the Mrs into giving me.a lift into Snottingham to watch the game in a pub!
Littletoe Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Hey little toe love ur new tattoo on ur neck much have stung xxx Haha! just changed it to the godfather bro x
Countryfox Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 I've seen lots of posts recently about plastic fans. I'll put my hands up and say that I supported Arsenal until I was 18 as they were my dad's team and that was how I grew up. This was despite living in Leicester. I never went to an Arsenal game, but went to about 5 Leicester games a season.I realised the error of my ways when I went to uni 12 years ago - everyone supported a big team. I'm proud of where I'm from, and so I made the switch to Leicester. I've been to about 100 games since then, including some league one games. Does this make me a plastic fan? I did support Arsenal when I was younger, but am never changing back. Leicester is my city and my club. If I could go back,I'd have made my dad buy me a Leicester shirt when I was 5 instead of an Arsenal one! Edit: only joined today as I'm not a big forum user, have been looking at this site for years.just joined to post this and get thoughts Bend forward from the waist then bend back from the waist ... do this about 15 times. If you snap in half you're plastic. Simples !
Countryfox Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Today feels like the right time for me to confess to a sin of 30 years ago. I'm ashamed to admit I had a one season 'affair' with Everton the year Lineker joined them. I was so gutted he left us and was so annoyed we sold him that I started following Evertons results and hoped he'd win the golden boot. I never went to an Everton game but I did have 'feelings' for them during that season. They were a great team and I feel guilty as hell now looking back. But luckily I saw the error of my ways and rekindled my love for Leicester the next season and have never strayed again since. Please forgive me. I feel cleansed now Disgusting behaviour Muzzett ! And I for one will certainly not be forgiving you. Tbh ... you need a good slap. Hold your head in shame.
Len Finsbury Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Unless you were born in the Royal and attended your first game before you were 10, you're plastic
lgfualol Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 You're not a proper fan until you get the Leicester badge tattooed on your forehead
Izzy Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Disgusting behaviour Muzzett ! And I for one will certainly not be forgiving you. Tbh ... you need a good slap. Hold your head in shame. . I've been carrying this guilt all my life and was hoping for forgiveness today of all days. I was young, stupid and impressionable but I know that's no excuse. I'll take that 85-86 season to the grave with me

tartanowl Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 It's your old man that started the Arsenal thing and not you. It's much better you supporting your local club than being one of the many new generation SkySports Chelsea/United/Arsenal fans. They are everything that is wrong with modern football.

Made your conscious choice when you were wise enough to do so and not looked back by the sounds of it!
Izzy Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 I did the same thing in 1967-68. But they were so attractive and fashionable and I was so young and impressionable - I just see it now as a passing moment of madness. My Dad's an Everton fan and went to the 68 cup final when Jeff Astle scored for WBA. Looking back I wonder now if he tried to sub consciously convert me in 85!

Will Loz Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Anyone who joined this forum from Sept last year is a plastic ...oh wait Seriously I was on the bbc 606 for years and even joined ja606 until some idiot LCFC fan there ruined it for everyone this year.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 There is no such thing as a "plastic fan", so no, of course you're not
Benguin Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 I was late to supporting Leicester, when I was a kid I hated football, wasn't till I was twenty that I started supporting Leicester properly, we were in the championship then and I'm from Leicester so I don't consider myself a plastic but I couldn't tell you that I watched us get relegated to league 1 or name every player since I was born. I personally don't care who supports leicester and for what reason, why should it bother anyone? The only plausible reason is that you can't get tickets but if you can't get tickets it's not a glory hunters fault it means at some point you didn't renew your season ticket, fair enough finance comes into it but the argument could be made that now we're good you can suddenly afford tickets. Everyone's entitled to do watch any football team they wish and whilst I don't understand club hopping or only supporting the winning team, who cares, it just gives me more people to talk to about our lovely club and while I suspect the club isn't revealing all Information about ticket sales, there is a priority system in place.
simFox Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Least you're from Leicester. Though collecting support from people outside the county generates more revenue so can only be positive. But still, if your born in the royal, read the mercury and can name five villages ending in Thorpe, your alright..
NotQuiteAFox Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 I'd class myself as a plastic. Did support Leicester as a young'un, went to the play off finals against Swindon and Derby, had the replica shirts and went to my fair share of Family Night Football matches. Then when they got into the Prem for the first time we got Sky Sports, a young me watched the Liverpool v Newcastle 4-3 game (Collymore in injury time) and I switched allegiance to Liverpool (yeah, I know). Lived in Leicester most of my life so I'm well aware of what the club and the proper fans have gone through, which is why I'm pleased for the fans that have gone through it all with Leicester to see what they're enjoying now. Admittedly I am getting absorbed in it all as I've had a season ticket for the past couple of seasons and have many City supporting friends and family as well as people who work at the club. Anyway to sum it up, if the pronoun you use to talk about Leicester is 'we' when it used to be 'they' thats a tell tale sign.
step Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 All fans are good, except those that think thy are a bigger fan than someone else

But still, if your born in the royal, read the mercury and can name five villages ending in Thorpe, your alright.. This is actually really difficult, born in raised in Leicester and after ten minutes thought I have got Countesthorpe, Little Thorpe, Elmesthorpe and if you can have it at the front: Thorpe Astley.
