Benjamin Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Could somebody get a link up as soon as they have them online please. It's the only one I have ever missed out of all the games I have ever been to. It was quite disappointing seeing people walking out with bags full of them. Fair enough to the people buying them for people who asked but it's ridiculous that people take advantage of Leicester doing well just to make a few quid meaning people miss out.
MrSpaM Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 i only buy programmes on big/exciting games and they nearly always sell out, with the fact it was obvious people would be at the ground from about 8am onwards they were going to sell out by lunchtime. easily. i bought 6. we have two STs and rotate them between 4 or 5 people, so we all got a programme each and then a spare one for my grandad. i don't think the issue here is fans buying loads, it's the club not making loads more. same with kits in the past 2 or 3 years. same with pretty much everything the club release. tickets i get, there are only a certain number of tickets to an event and once they're gone, they're gone. it's quite remarkable that someone somewhere at the club didn't think "reckon we might sell more programmes than normal today fellas?" "nah doubt it, just another game isn't it". good one. I'm honestly not that bothered considering they are planning on doing a re-print, I just want one for me and my dad and there were none left an hour and a half before kick off. It just winds me up a bit hearing that the local student flats were sending groups out just to buy as many as they could to re-sell.
lgfualol Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 When I got mine the seller told me one bloke had just purchased 80 in one go, I'd like to have seen him staggering off with them. 80?! Why isn't there a cap on how many one person can buy. Mental.
WardyisPukka Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 But do you not think the same problem would have occurred as with the beer? A stamp can be rubbed off, there are lots of sellers. If people really wanted to stock up they could have gone from one seller to the next. Come back later, sent a friend with the same ticket (they're not going to remember every detail.) There was no way it was going to be properly policed at one per ticket holder and frankly why should it? They only way to have done it remotely close was to sell them only inside, but that's a no-go with how small our concourses are for the numbers they process. The club have been excellent in ensuring there will be a reprint. It's an ideal scenario and will see everyone who wants one will get one, and in turn leave those unscrupulous people who bought only for profit (hopefully) in the lurch with a load of programmes they're not interested in. I don't quite get the superiority of it all to be honest. Even at 2pm the ground was absolutely chock. The reason I got mine at 11:30 was because despite what I thought was a large print run, the queues and potential for a sellout were there. If you really, desperately wanted a programme getting it early (and I mean really early) was the only thing to do. Unless you've been living in a cave recently it's obvious that any merch/publications associated with the club are hugely popular right now. everyone will get one will they? have you seen how shit the website is with demand?? anyways just making the point it should've been managed a bit better and give them away for free? come on probably make 20-30k from programme alone. They have thought about it and are doing another print run. What's 20k to our owners now? pocket money

You are right it should of been managed better and they are trying to sort that out, I honestly think the club underestimated Saturday like a lot of fans did, I thought it would be busier that normal but not like it was! it was mental I think EVERYONE underestimated it a lot of bars and restaurants definitely did.
lee7 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I couldn't see the reprint details on the club website. Could someone post the link when they become available please!
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 When I got mine the seller told me one bloke had just purchased 80 in one go, I'd like to have seen him staggering off with them. In that case the seller is just as bad as the buyer.
ramboacdc Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 In that case the seller is just as bad as the buyer. why is it? there are no rules over how many programmes 1 person can buy? they aren't selling for a fortune either. after postage and ebay/paypal fees you are looking break even.
Thracian Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I thought it disgusting that people were buying in bulk and that supplies ran out. People are so selfish and I passed my views on to the staff. It was the only time in 60 years support that I can remember not being able to buy a programme.
Renart Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I couldn't see the reprint details on the club website. Could someone post the link when they become available please! Not available yet: http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/champions-city-matchday-magazine-proving-popular-more-on-the-way-3099896.aspx
Vlad the Fox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I hope they print that many that those that bought them to sell on get stuck with a load they can't shift.
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 why is it? there are no rules over how many programmes 1 person can buy? they aren't selling for a fortune either. after postage and ebay/paypal fees you are looking break even. Just a bit out of order isn't it? Take one, let everyone else get their one and stop trying to make a quick buck. If you're breaking even then what even is the point anyway?
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Just said 15,000 were printed on EMT. Could have sold 30,000 easily when the demand was at its highest. If anything, a reprint might see the club left with stock on their hands as interest dies down.
ramboacdc Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Just a bit out of order isn't it? Take one, let everyone else get their one and stop trying to make a quick buck. If you're breaking even then what even is the point anyway? because people think they can make a quick buck and it bites them in the rear end. take the crisps for example, sell them now you will make £10 tops. sell them in 10 years and they could be worth more. if people want to buy loads then fine but it will trigger a reprint and then there will be more of them in the market and drag their price back down.
WardyisPukka Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 LCFC Help @lcfchelp 14m14 minutes ago Supporter Information: The club have ordered a re-run of the programme from Saturday's match, these will be with us next Wednesday
Tincy Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Absolute disgrace people buying 6 or more just no need whatsoever
Innovindil Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 because people think they can make a quick buck and it bites them in the rear end. take the crisps for example, sell them now you will make £10 tops. sell them in 10 years and they could be worth more. if people want to buy loads then fine but it will trigger a reprint and then there will be more of them in the market and drag their price back down. I eat those badboys in about 3 seconds flat. Inb4 we dominate football for the next 20 years and I missed out on retirement £££s.
Maggie's town fox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Agree Tincy, I saw one chap buy 15 and then walked away from the ground so obviously not there for the game and heading back for ebay no doubt. I myself purchased 4, one for each of my family who come to the games with me if tickets were available who weren't there on the day last Saturday. These will now be keepsakes for the next generations. As for those after a quick profit then I hope they make nowt.
