MattyFromLE Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I don't suppose anybody picked up more than one Matchday programme vs Everton and would like to part with theirs for some money (obviously) at all? My dad really wanted to get on one at the ground on Saturday - but they sold out before we got there at around 4:45pm.

DennisNedry Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I suspect ****** bulk buying to sell on eBay was a contributory factor in them selling out so quickly. We were at the ground just over an hour before KO and there were none available then.

I had 5 programmes in my hand carrying them for 4 of us who were there and the other was for my grandad who is unwell atm & can not get to the game. Everyone wanted 1 for this game as a momento for us winning. My nephew of 6 opened his to read & I have kept mine in the packet for years to come to say yes I was there Hopefully you all can get reprints as soon as they start selling them.

I'm sure i'll be able to get one for him. We used to collect them years ago, we stopped 2/3 seasons into being at the King Power. I have two copies of the Mercury, and we did get the free crisps/badges etc etc so - he can't complain too much! haha.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 One of the kids at my school down here in london is a ticket holder with his dad, and he told me this morning that they got me a programme I never asked, but will be so pleased to get one. So not everyone is going to flog them on ebay, we're a big club with fans far and wide. I'm pleased they're doing a re-print for those who missed out on the day though, common sense.

Selling for about £12 on eBay so if they were £15 to buy jokes on the re-sellers!! £3.50 same as every week. i bought 6 at about 11 on saturday morning. anyone with half a brain was doing similar. we sell out of programmes quite often on non-descript, pointless games. there was no way we were having anything like enough for saturday. ridiculous from the club.

Can I just ask why you needed six? I'm not sure anybody with half a brain would have know or expected that people were filling their boots with them at 11AM

I'm not sure anybody with half a brain would have know or expected that people were filling their boots with them at 11AM I can't speak for Scouse of course but I bought six myself, just to give a typical example of where they went/are going. - Three went to people who asked me to get one for them. I'm more than happy to do that as a favour to friends. - Two are for my LCFC collection never to be opened - One was for my collection and has been opened so I can actually read it I was there at 11:30 and the seller booths were absolutely stacked out with programmes, it looked like they couldn't move for them in there. I thought this meant they had a stonking huge print run ready to go right through but obviously not. It's right to say some people went mad because they wanted to make a quick buck on eBay but I suspect there were many who bought for friends like me, or bought two; one to open and keeping one sealed.

I got to the ground at 3.30 and they were long gone - absolute tossers selling them on ebay! simple! not surprised about shirts selling out - the store and ticket system is third rate always will be

What they should of done is restrict it to 2 per person or something.

They have thought about it and are doing another print run.

A stamp can be rubbed off, there are lots of sellers. If people really wanted to stock up they could have gone from one seller to the next. Come back later, sent a friend with the same ticket (they're not going to remember every detail.) There was no way it was going to be properly policed at one per ticket holder and frankly why should it? They only way to have done it remotely close was to sell them only inside, but that's a no-go with how small our concourses are for the numbers they process. The club have been excellent in ensuring there will be a reprint. It's an ideal scenario and will see everyone who wants one will get one, and in turn leave those unscrupulous people who bought only for profit (hopefully) in the lurch with a load of programmes they're not interested in. I don't quite get the superiority of it all to be honest. Even at 2pm the ground was absolutely chock. The reason I got mine at 11:30 was because despite what I thought was a large print run, the queues and potential for a sellout were there. If you really, desperately wanted a programme getting it early (and I mean really early) was the only thing to do. Unless you've been living in a cave recently it's obvious that any merch/publications associated with the club are hugely popular right now.

I'm not sure anybody with half a brain would have know or expected that people were filling their boots with them at 11AM i only buy programmes on big/exciting games and they nearly always sell out, with the fact it was obvious people would be at the ground from about 8am onwards they were going to sell out by lunchtime. easily. i bought 6. we have two STs and rotate them between 4 or 5 people, so we all got a programme each and then a spare one for my grandad. i don't think the issue here is fans buying loads, it's the club not making loads more. same with kits in the past 2 or 3 years. same with pretty much everything the club release. tickets i get, there are only a certain number of tickets to an event and once they're gone, they're gone. it's quite remarkable that someone somewhere at the club didn't think "reckon we might sell more programmes than normal today fellas?" "nah doubt it, just another game isn't it". good one.
