AKCJ Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 He truly can't take the credit for obvious reasons. Always liked NP and truly wish him all the best, I must admit the thought of him doing an NP does make me smile though, can't see him watching The Don and learning how to d/w the press and public somehow He can take a slice of the credit for the most blindingly obvious reasons. Was there any need to cut that discussion? Why did the mods cut out our debate? No idea mate.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 He can take a slice of the credit for the most blindingly obvious reasons. No idea mate. And your point is? I have always been an NP fan and I like most, with any sense, appreciate the positive things he put in place. He also had major flaws that eventually led to his downfall. My point, albeit subjective, is I cannot in any way see him achieving what the Don did. Just an opinion that I didn't put because I am not anti NP but considering your smug ass comment I have elaborated.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 He can take a slice of the credit for the most blindingly obvious reasons. No idea mate. He cant take SOME credit, but not much really. Yes, some of the players he brought here, and the staff are here, but you could just as easily say how much of the success is due to the staff that worked with both managers, and Ranieri has man managed the players for the whole season, motivated them, set them up tactically, and done it brilliantly. No one would credit Steve McLaren for leaving behind the players Benitez improved massively at the end of the season, and will probably get promoted fromthe championship with. Benitez made the difference.

But that doesn't mean he can't take a bit of the credit for beginning to assemble the best team in England. Not "smug ass" at all, just the truth.

Benitez made the difference. Obviously, but thats an entirely different scenario. Pearson played a large part in bringing together the best team in England. He deserves great praise for that and you'll have to be weirdly bitter about him to not give him it. It's not like there is a set amount of "credit" that you can dish out in percentages. You can acknowledge Pearson's huge influence on our club without taking from Claudio's utterly magnificent achievements.
BrummieFOX Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Loved the bloke when he was here and admire him for the job he did. He's at Derby now and I, as always, hope they do a Derby and bottle it. I would however gladly take them away FA Cup 5th round.

Well, surely the point is, that its Ranieri that has made them the best team in England. You arent the best team in England when youre way down the league in 14th place and fighting relegation, just because you have the same players. So whilst Pearson has brought in some of the players, the overriding influence is Ranieri for the vast improvement hes made to the club.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Do we give Milan Mandaric a slice of the "credit cake" for example? He could have sold us to the Venky's. But he sold us to the best owners a football club could realistically have.
foxfanazer Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Breaking News!....... Nigel Pearson saves 10 kids from huge house fire!! FoxesTalk- What was he doing in a house full of kids?

Its ****ing strange to be honest.
davieG Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 How many more times are we going to have this debate, no one ever changes their mind, everything for or against has been said over and over again. Ok I needn't enter the thread but as an Admin I like to keep track of what's being debated and this one couldn't be more boring.
Countryfox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 NP, CR, the owners, the backroom boys ... and even that little tool NP Junior ! ... all played their part in bringing about the perfect storm that gave us this magical season. I really liked NP but what I see now is a man that, although hiding it brilliantly, and being very careful about what he says is (understandably) very very bitter about LCFC. Not the players ... Just LCFC. If he can get away with it he will do anything he can to destabilise this club .... It's human nature. Little things to start with ... I'm NOW managing one of the biggest clubs in the country ... To who knows what in the future ... Contacting players ?? Backroom staff ?? I just think he won't be able to stop himself. And we all know the shaggers won't mind ! ... Putting up those stupid billboards in Leics ffs !!! Like I said I've got a lot of time for Nige but I just hope this doesn't become an issue that impacts on our future.

Wymsey Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Someone will start another What your views on Pearson, DavieG?
davieG Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 What your views on Pearson, DavieG? I've given them in a thread about 10 topics back I can't see the point in repeating them
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I rate Pearson as a great manager for Leicester. Hes a good manager, theres no dispute. I just dont really understand why he is so overrated by so many. He hasnt achieved anything more than a host of managers before him from Leicester and other clubs that we dont discuss. Some that have achieved the same we actively mock. It just seems a bit skewed.

I agree totally NP did dome fantastic things and yes some credit obviously. The 'smug ass' was my interpretation of your reply to my post! Maybe sarcastic is more appropriate
