I've heard before that when a scout recommends a player and thus player signs, does well and is later sold - the scout would get a percentage of the fee paid directly to him.

Can anyone confirm this as sounding reasonable? So basically Steve Walsh is about to become a very very rich man

Not knowing too much about the full lengths of a player signing to a team but wouldn't it be more logical to just give the scout a bonus on the player by performance through first/second season?

What if the scout has left the club and moved to another team whilst the scouted player gets sold?

Im little unfamiliar with scouting department too but surely a player gets numerous times and maybe by a few scouts too

yeah we only pay him £25 a week

Bonuses are paid out in many ways to scouts but most common is performance related.

Managers and scouts shouldn't get anything other than their basic wage. It's the club who puts up the money to sign the player and if Walsh should get money from Vardy, Kante and Mahrez deals then should he also pay money to the club for the likes of Inler?
