Finnegan Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Did you watch the Wales Russia game or just basing your opinion on ignorance? Stop biting to all the wind up merchants
Fox42 Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Shout out to Kári Árnason. He's impressed me the most from Iceland. As others have said, Hysaj as another outside mention. I also like the look of Baumgartlinger, despite his nation's poor efforts.
filbertway Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Dzsudzsák for sure, hadn't seen him play till I watched the Norway v Hungary play off games and he stood out then, had a very good tournament so far as well.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Perisic, Hamsik, Payet, Kante, Pekarik, Vardy.
J.Lisemore Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 He just runs around and does nothing. The obvious choice for people that don't watch the games is Bale, but Allen has made Wales tick in this tournament, been brilliant.
Finnegan Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Did the "team of the group stages" on BBC. Chose: McGovern, NI Brady ROI, Boateng Ger, McAuley NI, Arnason Ice Payet Fr, Allen Wal, Kante Fr, Kroos Ger Bale Wal, Perisic Cro
Guest Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 like many I've been impressed by Perisic over all the others (looking at players that could suit City). Boateng has been the best CB. Coluka and Hendrick have played well too.
Donut Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 There have been impressive performances from players we expected them from. But my team of the group stage would probably be: ---------------------------McGovern Juanfran--------Bonucci--------Boateng----------Hector ----------------Iniesta-----Kroos-----Rakitic ------------Payet----------Milik------------Bale Few players catching the eye for me: I like Joao Mario, Wes Hoolahan has really caught the eye, what a goal v Sweden and the pass last night for the goal was incredible, very surprised with his tournament, lots of Poles catching my eye, Milik, Glik, Kaputska. Few players given big buildups really disappointing me too.......Breel Embolo. Has done nothing to suggest hes worth 20+ million. The whole Austrian team, major let downs too. Delle Alli......massive let down. As has been Kane

Chose: McGovern, NI Brady ROI, Boateng Ger, McAuley NI, Arnason Ice Payet Fr, Allen Wal, Kante Fr, Kroos Ger Bale Wal, Perisic Cro I chose the ridiculously unrealistic formation of 3-3-3-1... Buffon Srna --- Boateng --- Alba Iniesta --- Kante --- Rakitic Payet --- Bale --- Perisic Morata Wanted to choose Lloris instead of Buffon but surprisingly wasn't an option. Also tried to shoe-horn Modric in but not able to. Anyway, this team concedes for fun, but also scores for fun. Srna and Alba help provide the width. Meanwhile Kante provides the undeniable support for Jerome Boateng.

shen Posted 27 June 2016 Posted 27 June 2016 Ragnar Sigurdsson, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigþórsson all showed the same kind of spirit that we have seen at Leicester. RS was unreal at the back and was superb in the opposite box too. Sigþórsson was hugely impressive. He was like Okazaki, but far more potent and with greater lungs and a big aerial threat. On this showing, he'd be an awesome foil for Vardy. He'd be Ulloa and Okazaki in one. Gylfi is class and showed he can do the dirty gritty work for 90 minutes while showing moments of his undoubted class.
Nod.E Posted 28 June 2016 Posted 28 June 2016 Andre Gomes has looked very tidy for Portugal. Renato Sanches as well, what a prospect!
Finnegan Posted 28 June 2016 Posted 28 June 2016 I was underwhelmed by Eder when we were linked. I had seen him play a couple of times for Samp on BT and he hadn't particularly stood out (not surprising as I think they've lost every game I've seen them, haha.) I'd obviously just caught him on quiet days because he's been excellent in this tournament and would have been brilliant behind Vardy.
