Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Top 5 in the league? Was there particular away games throughout the season where you thought the home atmosphere was particularly decent?Ours is up there with the best I'd say. I actually think our atmosphere is quite unique in the fact we've got two singing sections, the consistent efforts of L1 and UFS in SK1. It's been noted that due to the way our ground is structured with the home fans and away fans positioning, it creates a better atmosphere due to the close proximity of both fans. That probably makes sense given when the away end is full at the KP, the atmosphere always tends to be better. (Of course, the Kop near the away fans is always on the agenda) I'm always on the lookout for our atmosphere on more footage because a lot of the time it is magnificent, and to be fair there are already some decent videos out there on Youtube. Other notable home atmosphere's seem to consist of Swansea, Stoke (maybe) and Palace.
AKCJ Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 I went to Stoke, Newcastle, Arsenal and United. I'd rank them in that order.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 only went to Palace this year but I'd go based on live TV commentary: 1) Leicester 2) Swansea 3) C.Palace 4) West Ham 5) Norwich
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Norwich seemed to have got some plaudits last season.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 No one is consistently great in my opinion. Palace would have been so much better if their team wasn't absolute dog shit for the second half of the season, on their day they're still the best imo. Anyone can make a bit of noise when they're winning or when they've just scored. We were good for the most part but got very nervy towards the end
Bayfox Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Sk1 L1 Family stand Sk2-4 Concourses in all of the above for Everton home. We had this season nailed down as a whole.

Success on the pitch will always contribute to every atmosphere, which is why to a degree ours is so good particularly last season. Also the use of clappers seemed to of helped us get this reputation but I'd be intrigued to see our atmosphere with just our hands. Not intending to sound repetitive but our atmosphere created by ourselves is still very impressive and good enough for me. There's been times where the ground has gone quiet in periods of the games with clappers, and that will be the same without them too. That's just normal.
peach0000 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Swansea. Didn't go last season but did the season before and it was the by far the best atmosphere I've witnessed from the home side. Second would be southampton for me. Palace is the only one I've not been to recently but it always looks good on TV.
LCFC FOX Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Bury were the best I've heard this season and that's not even a joke. But as you said premier league I'd say WBA or Palace
LCFC FOX 1884 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 1) Leicester 2) Swansea 3) Palace 4) Watford 5) Stoke Also think Middlesbrough will be up there next season
Cheese Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 I only went to Stoke, Villa and Spurs this season. The Stoke fans seemed very loud at times.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Palace's atmosphere is massively overrated.....yet again suppose it's not hard to get plaudits when the microphones are right next to the HF. Was very sceptical of it after I visited last season, Stoke weren't brilliant either last season, only sing when they scored. Not ready to accept ours as being one of the best until we hit a really bad run of form then we'll see, fingers crossed we don't though.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Middlesbrough will be good next season. They have a supporter group like us called 'Red Fraction' and when their ground is full they know how to make noise. Their away following is excellent. Like I said in the OP, I'd love to see more footage of our support, in particular UFS.

Be good to see how they do with a decent gate on top of their section every week.
Corky Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Norwich seemed to have got some plaudits last season. Not when we went there, very poor.

I think supporter groups are the way forward for English clubs in attempts to reproduce and regain better overall atmospheres at stadiums. There's a good few supporter groups in the PL now - Man City, Middlesbrough, Leicester, Watford, Palace, Everton and Man Utd. (Any more?). Although those I've mentioned perhaps do not get coverage as groups, they've all got the right intentions individually.

You're right in that organisation is the way forward, but it needs the right mentality behind it. Different ways of organising will work at different clubs - sadly too many just see Palace on Yootoob and want to copy that without thinking about what will work at their club. Others like Watford are just an out and out joke. Some good groups about with good lads behind them though.

I'm hoping UFS get more coverage and plaudits next season or in future seasons. If the group continues to build year on year, I do think UFS will be wider recognised amongst football, just like the HF's are. I don't know if you saw my post on the 'City Flags' thread but I'd love to get some waivers for the lower area of SK1. The ones at the back are superb, but it'd be difficult for me to get some because, a - it's sitting all game and, b - I also don't know how people would take it, with me waving the flag/s around - potentially blocking their view. If SK1 was all standing though, then I'd do it in a heartbeat .
Bluetintedspecs Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 We do not have just 2 singing sections, where is this elitist bollocks coming from? To some degree the whole stadium is involved that is why it's so loud and awesome!

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Yeah I was pointing out that L1/SK1 are the most consistent singing areas who usually get the singing started, allowing the rest of the ground to then get involved. Wasn't trying to imply it's just two blocks - everyone around the stadium aid the atmosphere, no doubt.
sylofox Posted 22 June 2016 Posted 22 June 2016 Our big test will be Wembley man u have great away voice and always have. They will be up for it in August. Drowned them out we will be terrace champions. Even if they beat us we need to out sing the red barstewards.
