Oh don't be such a pompous ass.!

Its all I can bloody afford..and that's at a push!

I suppose you know about the 'gins of the world', you seem the sort.

Must be a scream at parties...

lol

Hahah, you didn't bite on my comment, disappointed Can't even remember trying Bombay Saffire if I'm honest but seriously give Sipsmiths or Tanqueray 10 a try, both sold in tesco and think you can get them for roughly the same price.

Bit out of the way, the Burleighs gin bar in town is decent. Think it's called 45 West.

Cheers for the tips, I may well give them a try.

I like gin but what I wouldn't do is to be so far up my own arris as to tell someone that a drink they enjoy drinking, is essentially shite.

Cos that's not cricket...

Just back from Poland with a bottle of duty free Star of Bombay. Never really had gin before but this was recommended.

After sampling a few Polish vodkas, anything would be an improvement.

Lidl have currently got some premium gin for £15. Flavoured or just normal. I bought a bottle and it was very pleasant, not harsh, warm undertones with citrus finish when served with lemon. I also discovered, having no lemons, a cube of watermelon is really nice.

I went to 45 West’s distillery a few weeks back to see how they make it and make my own bottle. Walked away with a litre of 48% rocket fuel lol

Was it any good ?? I'm doing it at the start of may. Is it worth getting a lift / the Mrs to drive ? Is there any samples flying about?

We usually have a selection of melon chunks and other fruit in the fridge, which we have with yoghurt for breakfast. It wasn't a whole watermelon. lol

I got this from a distillery in Cape Town, so nice. Pretty much tastes like Iced tea which I love.
