What we lacked in the last two games

Whilst I'm presuming this is a Rachel thread, there are arguably a couple of other areas where I see some holes..... No pun intendeded.

Hernandez is a centre back, Amartey appears to be a utility player, Chilwell is ready to be in a cup team but not yet in the the Prem starting XI, Mendy plays backwards more than forwards and King is not combative enough so.....

We we still need a dedicated right back to compete with Simpson who needs more game time, we also need to sign a combative box to box midfielder to partner Drinky.

After seeing Musa and Shinji yesterday I'm happy for us to spend all remaining cash on a Luan!

I was impressed with Hernandez at centre half last night.

Me too - just not sure he's a right back.

Yes, liked Hernandez look composed and comfortable on the ball. I think we do need a right back however as Amartey is better used in CM.

I think we lacked competition like Hull and Sunderland.

why is this even a thread for gods sake, we have played two of the worlds best football teams and got beat handsomly.they were both pre season freindlies to get our fitness up and test ourselves for the forthcoming season. people need to realise where we are and where we came from, we are not going to be world beaters overnight but we will always be competitive. i just wonder what peoples expectations on here are and whether they are fixing them to high.we can look forward to an exciting season and though it may not top lasy year we are on a great footing on and off the field.

Cannot judge pre season games against two of the best teams in Europe.

What we can do is understand we are inexperienced at playing in Europe, and they would have learnt that any minor mistake, can be punished ruthlessly.

The team was mixed between those who we expected to be starters and those who have a battle to get in the side, or are squad players, who are not good enough to play in Europe , but will play in the domestic cups.

What we have learnt is the team is good enough to give barca a good go, whilst adapting to European football.
