Germans told to stockpile food and water for civil defence

Either WW3 around the corner or first contact is imminent.

 

Does anyone else find this completely bizarre? I mean the Germans are renowned for their planning but for what? Imagine if the UK had been told to do this tonight... We have the same infrastructure as Germany so what's this all about?

Not just food and water. Been told to pack towels too in case anyone tries to nick their spot in the nuclear bunker.

This could have massive implications. Imagine if the Germans start to stockpile beer, no don't laugh it could happen & there's none available for a possible visit to Dortmund, Leverkusen or Moenchenglabach.

I presume they're talking about terrorist attacks here. The documents states 'an attack is unlikely but a major security threat to the nation could not be ruled out'.

 

Thinking about the state of the World and everything at the minute (well, not just at the minute but always really) it's not a bad idea to just buy a load of water.

why don't we just all build bunkers in the back garden and hide out? it is good to be prepared for anything but it shouldn't be taken to the extreme

Good point raised in the discussion: What's the deal with water required for the toilet flush? You either need a bunker that is connected to the sewer system or take a dump outside then...

I'm told sales of bottled water had fallen since brexit  they are now up 500% overnight, good for the economy.
